Are you doiing the blessing over the challah? If so, who is doing it? We were going to have the Rabbi do it, but he isn't going to the reception...THANKS!

Re: Question for Jewish/Interfaith brides
We are an interfaith couple and we decided to do it. Any relative on the Jewish family side that you would like to honor that also may not have a big role in the wedding (Grandparent, uncle, etc..) would be a good choice. We are having my cousin do it (he's pretty involved with his temple.)

Re: Question for Jewish/Interfaith brides
no, we are not going to incorporate anything religious. If we did the challah blessing, then we would have to do something traditional for his family too, and it would all just get too complicated.

Re: Question for Jewish/Interfaith brides
Yes, we did the Challah blessing. We had a Jewish GM do it.A lot of people have an older, 'Head of the family' figure do it.

Re: Question for Jewish/Interfaith brides
Both of my grandfathers said the blessing and cut the challah. My husband isn't religious at all so we only incorporated Jewish traditions (challah, hora) into our reception and we essentially had a Jewish ceremony.

Re: Question for Jewish/Interfaith brides
My father will do the blessing. I think it's usually someone from the family who does it.

Re: Question for Jewish/Interfaith brides
I'm having my two grandmothers do it. I'm not having them walk down the aisle (one can't walk and doesn't want to be pushed in a wheelchair), so I wanted a different way to honor them.

Re: Question for Jewish/Interfaith brides
Neithr one of us have grandfathers so FFIL will do it. My father would have been right up there with him but in the way that only my father could have said the motzi, Dad would have said:'Ha motzi lekem MINNIE HOROWITZ'.
It always generated laughs, but he was very serious about it. G-d I miss him!
I always wondered WHO Minnie Horowitz was?
