We decided not to do them because we both hated being dragged/forced up to the dancefloor when we were single. Besides, most of our friends are already married. I have been to many weddings recently where they will make the announcement for all single women/men to come to the dancefloor and 3 people show up, so it ends up being dragged out while the bride and groom go around to the tables plucking their shy single friends from their seats!

We're definitely doing it. We're at the age now where all of our friends are starting to think about getting married and we're the first ones, so it would be fun to see who wants it bad enough!

I want to do the bo-k toss just because I kind of feel like I have to, that people will expect it. But, I draw the line with the whole garter thing. I will have more older people/family than people our age and it's just a little too 'raunchy' for my taste -- taking it off AND putting it on. Not that I think it's bad when I see it at someone else's wedding...it's just not me. (Having been on the receiving end!)

no, we are not doing them, first off because I always hated being pushed into doing it at other weddings, and second, because all of our friends are married/engaged.
We are doing the annivesary dance instead. I will give the bo-k to the longest married couple.

No on both. Reasons why....not many people attending our wedding are single. Any wedding I've ever been to the single people had to be 'called' out onto the floor. No one went willingly. Plus both FH & I do not like the way it tends to 'break up' the party.

I'm doing both. I've never been to a wedding and they look like fun. I have a lot of older people coming too, but I'm sure they have been to so many weddings that seeing the garder toss wouldn't a problem. Also its all in good fun. So what if the girl who catches the bo-k and the guy who catches the garder have to dance. Its a dance, its not like they have to share a hotel room. Any date who gets jealous over something so silly , isn't worth having. And if they have a reason for that jealous (ie... guy puts his hand the girls butt, or the girl starts getting real close) then why be with them? I can't wait to do it. Also I've seen movies where the bride throws the bo-k at the end of the wedding when the dancing is over, so their would be no garder thing or dance. But I can't wait. It sounds like so much fun!

me three!! we are a younger couple, and all of our friends are young and single...the wedding bug has bitten most of them..especially the ladies
