NWR: I hate my job
NOW I know we have all felt this way from time to time, and I have a sensational way of exagerrating and taking things to the next level, but since the spring I can honestly say I hate my job more than anythign in the world. When I got engaged in June it just amplified it. It has gotten to the point that I make myself so upset my FI gets upset too now bc he feels so helpless. What should I do. Do I begin a new job a year before my wedding (I have been here for 5 years) or do I suck it up and plan my wedding and worry about this a year from now
PLease let me know what you think. I am happy to have found you guys. I am on here all day.

Re: NWR: I hate my job
I think you can look for a new job. I just started a new one & my wedding is in June. You can't stay miserable if you gotta go, then start looking.

Re: NWR: I hate my job
Definitely start looking!!! I was in a similar situation. I would come home MISERABLE every night....finally I decided to mail out a few resumes...and I'll be starting my new job next week! I know it could be worse somewhere else, but where I worked, EVERYONE was miserable and everyone complained bc the work s*cked and so did the boss!

Isn't the Carlyle awesome? Yes I would say start looking, get your resume together, sent it to a bunch of places and have an interview suit ready to go. Good luck!

I agree, I started a new job in June when my wedding was 4 months away. If its effecting your life (outside of work) then you need to cut your ties and go before it makes you bitter! JMHO!

I would get out of there. It is the worst feeling to be miserable at work.

Re: NWR: I hate my job
Start looking!!! Life is too short to spend your days be miserable. Think of how much more you will enjoy planning your wedding if you have a job you love, or at least like. The only thing that ***** is the interviews. That is stressful, but worth it.

Re: NWR: I hate my job
I hate my job too but I am glad to have it when payday rolls around. Plus looking for a job while you have a job is always less stressful than when you don't have a job.

Re: NWR: I hate my job
Wow you have been there five years and you are just starting to hate it!Well it must be really bad since you are just saying it now. I say if you can't bare it start looking hey it never hurts if you can find a job that will pay you more, and help save for the wedding.
Honestly the grass is never greener though.
I left a job for a new one more money and I hate it but now have to stay there is no way I am going to start looking in my industry everyone know everyone and I don't want to be a bouncer (plus the money is really good).

Re: NWR: I hate my job
You aren't giving us all the info. How are your hours? If you leave your job, will you have to work longer hours. How about vacation time, etc.
I think it really ***** working where you hate. I have thought about what I am doing a million times and although I am miserable and work at least 11 hrs per day, I kind of think the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. I have some colleagues that I know here that are nice and it is kind of comfortable.
Also, leaving now is hard because I don't know if my next employer would be that understanding about my need to do some wedding related phone calls at work, they are not that understanding here, but because I feel kind of comfortable here, i can make calls. If i started somewhere new, i would want to be on my best behavior and wouldn't be able to take a slightly longer lunch if necessary or leave a little early. You really have to consider the freedom that you have there if you have been there 5 years, vs. trying to make a good impression on new employers. Hope this helps. JMO
