Re: Saturday Afternoon Wedding

I'd wear a black dress - not necessarily long, but a nice one.

Re: Saturday Afternoon Wedding

Nice dress. Saturday afternoon weddings are not often just as formal as saturday night.

Re: Saturday Afternoon Wedding

My wedding was a Saturday afternoon and I expected people to be just as dressed as they would have been for an evening wedding.

I can't say it was really any cheaper (than a Friday or Sunday night) and I certainly didn't plan any less than evening brides.

Personally, I would have taken offense if people 'dressed down' for my wedding.

Sorry, JMHO.

A nice dress - cocktail length or tea length and heels.

Well said. There were a few women who wore pants to my wedding, and I felt offended by their choices.

ETA: Since your FH is in the wedding party, I think you should try to look considerably nicer than the other guests.

I thought I was being silly, but I was a little offended by my friends who wore skirts & sweaters (and my wedding was at night. )

For a day wedding, I would still wear a coctail dress, just may not something very sparkly & would tone down down make up just a little.

Re: Saturday Afternoon Wedding

wear something formal, because it is a wedding.. every bride would want her guests to look appropriate for this special occasion.

I sometimes am just not feelin' a dress or skirt and end up in a nice/dressy pants suit. I never thought that it would be considered offensive now I'm wondering if I was wrong.

same goes for me! i think sometimes a pants outfit looks better than a skirt combo on me. as long as people look presentable, wedding attire never really bothered me...
