an '05er here... sorry for the intrusion but I have a question for you

FH and I have a suite booked at the hotel for the night of the wedding...same hotel where the OOT guests are staying.

my FMIL is hosting a brunch on the day of the wedding (don't ask!), so... there really isn't a specific reason for us to stay there.

Long story short, I think it would be SO much nicer to just come home after the craziness of the day and sleep in our own bed. (we're leaving for the HM 2 days after the wedding).

so my question is, are any of you staying at a hotel the night of your wedding?

We are not staying at the hotel with everyone b/c we want to be alone! we will meet up with them in the morning for brunch at the other hotel!

Same here, we are paying 100 bucks to keep the hotel bar open til 4

We are staying at the hotel with the OOT guests. We stay in our apt every night, and I fell in love with the suite I booked.

That, and we have upstairs and downstairs neighbors, and quite frankly, I don't need them hearing us on our wedding night!!!

We are staying in the hotel with the rest of our quests. For two reasons.# 1--we will be drinking in the bar afterward and dont want to worry about driving and # 2 because the brunch is the next day and we dont want to worry about having to drive there

We're sleeping in a hotel the night of the wedding but my FIL are hosting a day after brunch in the hotel. Do what you're comfortable with, if you're most comfortable sleeping in your own bed, do it! It's your wedding night and you should do what's most comfortable for you

We are staying at the Inn at East Wind as part of our package. In all likelihood we will be blocking rooms at a different hotel.

We originally were going to stay in the hotel with the OOT guests but we looked at it as another expense we didn't need to spend! Considering our reception is not over til 1AM, I want to be able to go home & enjoy my time & not worry about getting up before 'check out' time. We will be heading back to meet up with our OOT guests the next day for a brunch hosted by my inlaws....

Even though you can sleep in your house or apartment every night, you have your entire HM to sleep somewhere special...

Do whatever you feel more comfortable doing. Its your wedding!!! If you feel more comfortable in your own bed, then by all means, go for it. You can make your wedding night special no matter where you are!! I personally would feel more comfortable in my own bed, but we are staying in a hotel the night of because theres a hotel right near our hall, and after that long day (& night) we will not be looking forward to driving all the way back to Staten Island.
