July and August Brides Question

Is anyone else getting married outside?

We haven't booked our location yet, but I want to have both the ceremony and reception in the evening outdoors at a vineyard. My FMIL is obsessed with the idea that it will be too hot, even with the tents to protect from the sun. What do you think? Are you worried about the heat? I had my heart set on an outdoor wedding

Re: July and August Brides Question

We'll my friend got married on a hot day in late June of 04 (at a vineyard) , and it really wasn't bad at the ceremony, b/c it was around 6. Plus, we had dresses that were light fabric. My other friend got married this August in the evening, and it wasn't bad at all. We are having our ceremony at the beach, in the evening, and I was thinking I might provide fan programs. Everyone was telling me not to worry, people might complain, but in the end it's my choice. And I'm having it outside!!!

I say if it is what you want, then go for it!! You just may want to think of other alternatives for the day of, because even with all of your planning, you can't predict the weather!!

Re: July and August Brides Question

My cousin got married July 02 on the hottest day in July outside in the blazing sun at a vineyard and it was still beautiful! Just have an air conditioned cocktail hour and your guests will be happy. Plan an indorr location too, just in case of rain. Have fun, its your day!
