JuneBride's June 16th Wedding Post

I just got back to work yesterday and couldn't wait to tell you all about our day! First I want to say - enjoy all of the planning it goes by so fast. I miss it so much, it is one of the best parts (looking forward to it) I did have a perfect day, I was very lucky. The ceremony was beautiful and I was so nervous until I got up to the alter with my husband Jim. It is an amazing feeling. (Get a video) I have watched it over and over again already b/c you can't remember a lot of it. It's kind of like being in a dream. It was supposed to rain all day but it only drizzled in the morning. In fact it started to drizzle when I was getting out of the car with my dad - it is one of my cutest pics. (yes, I already have my proofs back) I will start with my photographer FINE ART (truly the best) my photograper was Jimmy and Chuck. Jimmy was the main photo. and I cannot tell you how funny he is and how much we all laughed while taking the pics. (Which has made my pics. some of the best I have ever seen) I am really not just saying this - they look like the ones in the magazines. All of my wedding party had a ball taking them - he just goes on and on about you all and runs around like crazy. (I have never seen a photo. work so hard) but it shows in the picturs. I also have the unedited video (everything you see on the video I have a pic. of) Now for all of the CARLYLE BRIDES - you have nothing to worry about... everyone is going to tell you it is the most elegant weddding they have ever been too. I hope someone I know gets married there b/c I have to go as a guest. My cake was straight out of the book!! Try and take a moment at the cocktail hour with your husband to look around - I didn't but I saw on the video it was fabulous. The service is exactly like they tell you (beyond compare) they treat you and your bridal party and family like royalty. Jim was out on the dance floor and they would bring him out a drink without even asking! Not a worry in the world it is worth the money! You made a very good choice - if you have any questions just post... Good Luck! Band - Elite Music - very good I was very happy with them. They learned 4 songs that I had asked and in fact I asked them to learn Janis Joplin Bobby MeGee - so when she started she said she just learned it and maybe we would come up and help - (my girlfriends and I always sing this at bars when given the chance) she didn't know this - we all jumped up and sang the whole song) it was really funny! Stratmore Limo - I had a Rolls Royce and a stretch for my wedding party. The co. was great! They really do a lot - get everyone in and out of the church - helped me get down the alter on time - (I won't go into it all but they were great) Stefans Florist!!! My flowers were also perfect - I had lavender and Ivory roses - for me and the girls (they were tied tight) exactly like the pic. I showed them) I had small bubble vases with a floating rose for cocktail tables (Lav. and Ivory roses in a big bubble vase on each table) I got so much for my money - I think the tables had about 24 - 28 roses on each table (the girls had about 15 roses and I had about 35) everything was just lav. and Ivory roses - I was very happy with the company. People think they are very expensive but go to them they will work with you and you will end up with more then the small florists - Just a note - after watching my video Jim and I are not together a lot - try and spend time with eachother... we wish we would of spent more... it's easy to get distracted. Don't stress about the day - the planning is truly one of the best parts and none of it is worth getting upset about! It's your day don't let anyone ruin it! I didn't make a list of pics I wanted and honestly I have great pictures but if there are special requests just make a short list of those - you can't think of it all on your day. If you have a good photo. you don't have to give him a list of all the (standard pics) I would of just put like 4 or 5 pics that they wouldn't know about... anyway I am really going to miss this site - I have checked it each day and this has also been a very special part of getting married sharing all of this with you all. i am so happy for you !! i'm getting married at carlyle in october and couldn't wait to hear how it went....can i ask you a couple of questions? who was your maitre d? did you get to eat any of the food? i know bride and groom usually don't, but did people say it was great? oh, did you have a bridal assistant? sorry to be babbling...i can't wait for october! thanks so much!

Oct. Bride -

No I didn't have a bridal asst. I had Elena with me - I have to do a post on her... I walked around at the cocktail hour and greeted everyone - I went to go eat something and they told me they would put a little of everything in the bridal suite (which they did) I tried a few things but it's exactly like you said - you really don't eat... which I regret but it's so hard. I had Enzo and I forget the other guys name now - you have like four head people taking care of you... Enzo is very nice (oh the other guy is Gerard) which Jim's father loved he said that he was really treating Jim's family great. Like I said they really are on top of everything... the place looks 10xS better on your wedding day then you have seen it! With the flowers and candles and in the cocktail hour the draps are all down covering the doors it is really breathtaking) I wish you all of the best - who are you using as a florist? If you haven't yet go see Stefans' (there house florist) B/c they are the house - you get so much more - I will check in Oct. for your post - I hope you have a day like mine!! While you are out taking pics. they will be running in and out getting you drinks. Oh I forgot this - I was an hour early and 12 people were all outside waiting for us like they new (it was very very impressive) All my guests got there early too and they were all greeted with champaign and opened cocktail hour early.

I got married June 30th and loved your advise to the brides-to-be! Like you thank god I had the video to capture all the things I missed. It was well worth all the planning and we keep talking about the wedding every day since. I felt like a princess and loved every minute of it. My uncle said if I kissed my new husband anymore, he could sell the video as a 'porno'. But the truth is the day just goes by soooo fast so you got to savor every minute of it. Again, congratuations!
