Re: Wedding Dress Sample Sales
I went to a Vera Wang sale in the spring. I didn't find anything I liked better than a dress I tried on two days before. (which BTW, is the dress I bought, I just couldn't get it out of my mind and kept going back to put it on again) If you are going to either one, my suggestion is to get there at least 1 full hour before it starts. I got to Vera at 10 AM, and didn't get in to try on dresses until almost 1 PM. By that time a ton of stuff was gone.Don't worry about being 'rushed' into buying a dress, you'll know 'the one' when you put it on.

Re: Wedding Dress Sample Sales
I bought my dress at the Filenes in Boston when they were having a similar sale. WOmen are bonkers at this event and it has been lovingly referred to as the run of the brides. It was worth it though, Bought a 7500 Kenneth Pool dress for $500.

Re: Wedding Dress Sample Sales
i got mine at burtons - but i know someone who went to a filenes sample sale and got a gorgeous dressimo, don't be forced to go to a sample sale. take your time, pick a few places & make appointments. to save a few bucks is not worth it if you are not 100% satisfied w/your gown

Re: Wedding Dress Sample Sales
I bought my dress at a sample sale and absolutely love it, bought a $6000 dress for $2000 and had a very good experience. My suggestion is to first go to a regular bridal salon and try on different dresses. That way, you can at least narrow down what style you like best. Or not feel so much pressure to make a decision. Not that you will, though. When you try on The Dress, you will know.
Also, get there early and if you are considering wearing your hair up for your wedding, wear your hair in a bun. You will see that it makes a world of difference in helping you visualize what you want. HTH
