What will your Father-Daughter Song be?

Let's keep this going - I love reading all the responses, the variety AND the similarities - fascinating!!!

Mine will probably be 'You Raise Me UP' by Josh Groban... I have a feeling that's a 3 Kleenex song...

UGHH I do not know!!!

My father and I are very close but we are NOT the mushy gushy type of daughter/dad. We like to joke around and stuff, not hug and kiss all the time.

I need a non mushy song that will fitus.

I'm looking for something not too mushy as well. Someone suggested something cute like My Girl. I don't think that's really mushy at all. Maybe this thread will give us some more ideas.

I would have danced to 'Daddy's Little Girl' with Dad but he passed away in July. We danced to that song at my Bat Mitzvah. I will be dancing with my brother and he seems to really want 'The Way You Look Tonight' by Frank Sinatra. I'm game for anything.

mine is butterfly kisses...i know it is very overplayed...but i think of my daddy everytime i hear that song and when it first came out i could only imagine us dancing to it!

'Daddy's Little Girl' - I have heard it at so many weddings all of my life and have been waiting to use it for my wedding. It's perfect for us because I am the youngest in the family!

'Daddy's Little Girl' - I have heard it at so many weddings all of my life and have been waiting to use it for my wedding. It's perfect for us because I am the youngest in the family!

I might use this as well.. Infact my dad suggested it to my sister for her wedding, and when she chose something else he was a little disappointed. S I think I might do it. We are very close, and I think it fit, but I'm also up for more suggestions too!!

The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. 'Father of the Bride' is our movie!!! For my shower, my dad actually gave me the same wedding lace sneakers that Steve Martin have his daughter in the movie..

That made me hysyterical crying at the shower!!

Right now I'm using this, because my father made no requests when I asked him. All he said to me was 'as long as it's a slow song'. Gee thanks!!

Although every typical father-daughter song, I find something in the lyrics that doesn't fit the relationship we have. Butterfly Kisses was my first choice, but with lyrics about the bedtime prayer, it didn't feel right.

My dad and I arent mushy either - he is very quiet and to tell you the truth I find him hard to relate to, but I know he loves me and he has helped me a lot in his own way in the last few years - I knew he would never come up with a song because he is so not into this wedding thing at all (look he's paying for it - can't complain) but I figured maybe if I got something really emotional like Josh Groban he would feel something from it...

I love Billy Joel and wanted to use Lullabye
(Goodnight my Angel). It is a ballad song but the words are beautiful and B. Joel wrote it for his daughter. I tear when I hear it still. I will be a mess at the wedding.
