Did anyone have a problem like mine? UPDATED FINALLY GOT PICS!!
So I Got a dress from David's. It's a Beautiful Ballgown with a cuffed and beaded satin bodice and an embellished extra poofy tulle skirt with scalloped edges and a chapel train. My flower girl matches, she's just adorable. (style T8017 on site but photo doesnt really do it justice). The problem? Suddenly I feel like I'm wearing a prom dress and I'm having second thoughts about it. I feel terrible because my mom is about to kill me (cause she bought it and at davids all sales are final) and 'the girls' (BP) all think I'm crazy (except for one). They say I look beautiful and like a Barbie doll, but is that necessarily a good thing? I don't know, but with only 5 months to go, I'm having a Bridal Gown Breakdown. I just don't know what I should do. I made the big mistake of trying on other gowns and now I'm confused. At first I always wanted a poofy princess-like dress, but now I feel like I'm going to look overdone. I mean the dress is bigger than my grandpa (who says I look like a powder puff) when I'm wearing it...lol, but seriously, how's that going to look in pictures? What the hell should I do? Does anyone know of someone who had a similar experience? Do I just forget about it and hope on my wedding day that everything just falls into place? Did you ever hear of a bride ending up with 2 gowns? I don't know what to do.
These pics are not the best, but you get the point....

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
I have heard of girls getting two dresses because they fell out of love with # 1...but I just looked at your pic in the dress....you look BEAUTIFUL!...and that is coming from a non poofy person......I would relax and stick with it. If you want to take some of the poof out, just have some of the underneath layers removed...but really...it's looks fabulous as is!

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
Did you pick the dress up yet and take it home? I was told at David's Bridal that you can get a credit towards another dress if you don't like it, it doesn't fit right, etc... I think that's so long as you didn't have it altered yet or taken it from the store. Hope this helps.Rachel

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
I think your dress is beautiful! Honestly if you feel it's too much, I think you can fix that by wearing a simpler veil. I love it with the ribbon edges, but I think it might compete with the dress too much. That would be a much more inexpensive way to ensure that your look isn't 'too much.' I think the dress is perfect!

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
Thank you so much for the reply and the compliment. Unfortunatly, the dress I'm wearing in the pic is not the dress I bought. I almost bought that dress and even after I didnt, I kept looking at it thinking, maybe I should have...lol...maybe I'll never make up my mind.I dont have any pics of the other one yet, but when I do, I will post.

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
How much was the dress? If you REALLY hate it I'd say if it wasn't that expensive, look for a new one and try to sell the other one (on ebay or something)?

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
It really wasn't that expensive, but with the veil and the tiara and the slip, it all adds up. I was thinking of putting it on Ebay, I just feel like I'm going to hurt my moms feelings because it was her gift to me.

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
I think the boddice is absolutely gorgeous, and I love the material of the skirt. I think it is a bit poufy, but you could probably take it to a dress maker and have some of the layers taken out. If you do that, I think it's perfect.

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
i have a poofy ballgown as well and sometimes have second thoughts. but then i remember i chose it for a reason. just because other people wear smaller gowns doesn't mean you have to.stick with it. go try it on again and you will probably fall in love with it.
AND STOP TRYING ON OTHER DRESSES!!! that's what's causing your problem!!

MHO the dress is beautiful...the detailing on the bodice is beautiful....love the way it tappes into the waist. I wouldn't change it.

I understand, my mom bought mine too and I would probably feel the same way. But remember, your mom's biggest concern should be (and probably is) how YOU feel on YOUR day. I am sure she would understand. I think it is beautiful, if those are the correct pictures. I love poofy! Its a real princess-y looking dress!

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?
I tried it on last night and I do love the dress, I just feel like something isn't right. I still want poofy, but I think it's all that tulle that's bothering me. I keep thinking maybe I should have gone with satin/silk poofy and not tulle poofy if you know what I mean.....
