I tried it on last night and I do love the dress, I just feel like something isn't right. I still want poofy, but I think it's all that tulle that's bothering me. I keep thinking maybe I should have gone with satin/silk poofy and not tulle poofy if you know what I mean.....

I love the tulle! But I have seen other gowns where the tulle is more subdued and less poofy. Why don't you try it on without a slip and see how you like it?

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?

I think that no matter what dress anyone falls in love with, there is always the possibility of finding one they like better....there are just a TON of dresses out there!!

Do what your gut tells you too...because you deserve to feel absolutely perfect on your wedding day!

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?

I think the dress is gorgeous but I felt like you when I had bought my first dress. After many months of driving myself and everyone else crazy about it, I bought a new one. I sold my first one on ebay. My first one was bought too soon and I hadnt looked or tried on a lot of dresses or different styles. My 2nd dress wound up being cheaper than my first though. Good luck!

I think it's a nice thing to be called a Barbie doll! I think that dress is very beautiful.

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?

WOW, I think that dress is gorgeous, and soooooo many brides wear that poofy style, i absolutely love that tulle, its so pretty, I think the bodice is amazingly beautiful, and a simple fix could be taking out a couple layers of tulle from underneath since your concerned about puffiness, and that shouldnt cost that much money, and you will look gorgeous!!

That dress is beautiful!! Had I seen it and tried it on, I might have just bought it for myself. As for tulle vs. satin/silk, IMHO it is a personal thing. I kept seeing dresses in magazines that were satin and to my eye looked gorgeous, but the second I put them on I hated them. For example, there is an Eve of Milady dress that every single time I look at the picture I think to myself 'I wish I could afford that dress', and then I remind myself I tried it on, and HATED the way I looked in it. I finally found a lace and tulle dress that is PERFECT for me.

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?

I think the dress is pretty.

I also think that it is normal to have second thoughts about the dress. I know I did. But I stuck with my gut and wore it. I got so many compliments about it. I even heard someone whisper 'beautiful' as I came down the aisle.

Think of the reasons why you fell in love with the dress in the first place. What are the issues you have with the dress now? Are these issues something that a seamstress can fix?

Good luck.

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress. I was working at David's when it came out and the moment I saw it, I wanted to buy it when I eventually got engaged.

Of course, I ended up with a completely different dress, and haven't even tried that one on, believe it or not. But it's a GORGEOUS dress.

Go with your gut. Remind yourself why you love it in the first place. And anyone who tells you you look stupid should be told to shut it. Yes, even Grandpa!

Re: Did anyone have a problem like mine?

I love it, Stacey. I think it's very pretty!! Just think-it's the one day to get to look like a princess and wear a beautiful gown! Go for it. I know how you feel though. I think I've finally chosen my dress, but I'm still having second thoughts. I'd definitely stop looking though b/c you'll drive yourself crazy otherwise. I know I had to. I do LOVE that dress though. I think you'll look fantastic in it.

I know grandpa didn't mean it in a bad way, but I'm super sensitive these days....
Just out of curiosity, do you get a discount when you work at David's? And I often wondered while I was there, how is it working there?

Did you pick the dress up yet and take it home? I was told at David's Bridal that you can get a credit towards another dress if you don't like it, it doesn't fit right, etc... I think that's so long as you didn't have it altered yet or taken it from the store. Hope this helps.

Rachel

yeah, i brought it home already.....

Funny you should say that. I wanted an Eve of Milady more than anything and I did try one on. It looked beautiful, but I can not afford Eve of Milady, I shouldn't have done that to myself, I was secretly hoping it was going to look terrible, but it didn't!
