my grandpa said almost the same thing to me--but he called me an italian guidette. i take that as a compliment!

seriously--grandpas are grandpas. it's a gorgeous dress.

what are you doing about a veil? i can't pick one out for the life of me and my dress is similar to yours

I have a cathedral veil. It has pearls and rhinestones scattered all the way to the bottom. It's the one I'm wearing in my profile pic. I like it because as it flows into the tulle skirt, it kind of blends so that you can't really tell it's there.

The only comment I have is that I might not wear those particular gloves cause they sort of blend into the tulle at the bottom.... but other than that, lovely :)

well, i'm not gonna lie, its a little poufy. maybe you could take out some layers to reduce the poufiness? other than that, i don't think it's over done at all. you look beautiful regardless. not only that, if you love the dress don't listen to other peoples opinions.

PS - i have the same BM's dresses but in apple! i love them!

It is very pretty. But I agree with the girl who said to get a simpler veil . It will tone down the poof:)

You look gorgeous in it!!! I so wanted a tulle ballgown style like yours, but also like you, my parents paid for half my gown, and I would feel guilty if I got another one!!! While I am not crazy about mine, it does make me look thinner!! So you are not alone in second guessing yourself!!!

I would get a simpler veil and skip the gloves!
It is not my style, but it looks very pretty on you. I always feel overdone in wedding dresses and tiaras and veils. On your wedding day it will come together and you will look beautiful.

I'm definately doing away with those gloves!! But I really like the veil. I'm going to lose the slip and see what happens.

If I'm still not happy, I'm going to look for another dress right after Christmas!

Just out of curiosity, do you get a discount when you work at David's? And I often wondered while I was there, how is it working there?

Yeah, I think we got a 30% discount? I'm not entirely sure, it was SEVERAL years ago. There were things I liked about the job, and things I didn't like about the job. Mainly I didn't like the pressure to make sales for commisssion. In order to get commission, we had to sell a certain amount in a pay period, otherwise we made a flat hourly wage. I am a good saleswoman, but there was no way I was going to push a dress on a bride who didn't like it to make a few extra bucks. Just not my style.

Also, I felt that there were some customers who were very snooty and difficult to please. So I left.

Oh, and PS - you look fantastic in that dress. I'm totally jealous.
