NWR - what are you getting your bosses / work teams for Xmas?

I am poor and am feeling neglected by my company anyway (no bonuses, no raise in two years)....I am not THAT close with the people I work with either....can I just get them a card and an Xmas-theme cookie from Starbucks? Sorry, I know I'm cheap, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Seriously, if this is the case, dont go out of your way. Send them christmas cards with well wishes and leave it at that. If you feel so inclined to give them something...... make some cookies yourself. But dont go wasting you hard earned money.

Re: NWR - what are you getting your bosses / work teams for Xmas?

I bet those cookies at starbucks are fairly expensive per cookie. Are you a baker? You could bake a large batch of christmas cookies and give them out wrapped in red and green cellophane with ribbon. It would be very inexpensive and also festive. I think they would enjoy home baked cookies.

I work in NYC and I have never bought a gift for the people I work with
you do not need too, expecially if you get nothing in return

Buy a popcorn canaster and open it for collegues to share

See, I love to bake. I wish I had more reason to bake. In fact, I would bake christmas cookies for the people I work with...except I hate them all!

Re: NWR - what are you getting your bosses / work teams for Xmas?

I'm giving my boss a bottle wine, and the cheaper the better!

why? I invited her to my wedding, she responded 'no' and never even told me why. when I came back to work from my HM she didn't even say so much as 'congratulations', let alone a card or heaven forbid... a gift

what a beyotch. you know, as I type this I am considering giving her NADA!

Re: NWR - what are you getting your bosses / work teams for Xmas?

My bosses make so much money that I'm just giving them cards this year. For years as their executive asst. I saw that they got presents that they really didn't need or want. They have everything they need. One year they each got about 11 bottles of liquor. I think a card is always a nice gesture to show you apprreciate them.

Re: NWR - what are you getting your bosses / work teams for Xmas?

Don't even get me started. At my office, we are required to each chip in $100 for our boss's gift (who by the way has 3 homes and about a zillion dollars) and we have to pitch in $25 for each secretary... so that is another $210 and THEn we get each of our secretaries a gift ($25) and some associates exchange with others. That makes the total at least a whopping $335 for office gifts.... I am gonna have to start gift wrapping in the mall on the weekends for extra cash!!!!

Seriously for the associates i work with, I am thinking of going to Godiva and getting them the little box of 4 truffles... just a token gift. another guy i work with is just leaving bottles of wine for everyone.

That's insane How can they 'require' something like that??? I hope you get a HUGE bonus...or atleast enough to cover all the $$$ you HAVE TO spend on gifts!!! That's $ucks
