Are you doing a wish bowl in lieu of a guest book? it might get a little crazy with both?? i like the wish bowl idea, but the traditionalist in me likes the guest book!

what do you do with the 'wishes' after the wedding? put them into an album? How many papers do you think those containers hold?

I saw a vase nearly exactly the same as that Martha Stewart fishbowl at Smith and Hawken a month ago, way marked down, and didn't buy it! Argh! I wasn't thinking about doing a wish bowl then, I thought about getting some of their big vases for ceremony flowers, but I was thinking guest book then. I even bought two really tall vases--I think they were supposed to be for forcing amaryllis, they were about two feet tall and kinda narrow--but the saleswoman chipped a huge piece out of the foot of one of them while she was wrapping them up. I couldn't believe it. I made them get me a fresh one from the back because all but one of the floor models had chips, then she chipped one of the only two good ones. So I had them void the sale. I figured if they chipped that easily, I wouldn't bother. Anyway, I wish I had gotten the fish bowl one. I saw a really cute wedding where they did the cards and envelopes, then mounted the envelopes in a book so you could open them and see the wishes. That's what I'm going to do, but I need to get a big bowl.
