Anyone else poor now?

I'm not talking about too poor to buy a Juicy outfit - I mean - negative balance in the bank....

and we still have gifts to buy!!!

we are using gift cards we received for our engagement to help us out - but it's still not enough...

What are we going to do????

giving is nice if you can do it, don't force yourself when you can not. its the spirt and caring that matters.

im not doing xmas this year in my house...
just a tree and a good attitude... we told others we can't exchange and they understand cause we just had a wedding and a house purchase....

I am sort of in the same boat-everyone needs to understand that right now money is tight with the wedding and etc-

fortunately i'm not negative - but we've really hit the credit cards hard and done the minimum payments whenever we get our paychecks. i'm hoping for christmas money to help make payments - i cant wait for after the wedding when the bills are paid and the stress of living paycheck to paycheck is minimized for a couple months before we start house hunting.

it never ends.

ETA: this year christmas is hard - i usually go over board and so does my family but this year i cant afford it and i feel bad b/c i just got them a couple of little things.

We're not negative but I am soooo stressing over what we're saving & what we will have by our wedding....we're so over budget..FH has to realize....I think he's oblivious b/c I do all the bills & b/c we have $ in the bank he doesn't think there's a problem.....URRRRRRR

We put a set amount on gifts w/ family & e/o this year.

We're not paying for the wedding - my dad is - if we had to pay, we wouldn't be having a wedding at all... just a ceremony in a park...

put the gifts cards down--step away from your credit card and stop buying gifts!!!

christmas is about family and spending time with one another...not about bouncing checks and spending $$ on gifts you can't afford. if you don't have...YOU DON'T HAVE IT!!

give friends and family a nice card...and let them know that times are tough. they will understand.

want to make them nice inexpensive gifts? to to michael's or bed, bath & beyond, and buy some discounted holiday platters (BBB had some for $2!) and then go home and bake some cookies, brownies, cake, etc. and then create holiday gift platters out of it. that way you don't go empty handed, and save $$

CC are not available to us - we said that the plus side to all this this year is that we won't have bills after xmas for the gifts we bought...

Yea we are in sad shape this christmas. We had to put some of our christmas spending on credit cards. We really cut down this year on spending money.

I have some money saved but I am so afraid of having to use all of it for the wedding and then being poor. It has taken me a long time to save it and sometimes I feel it will be crazy if we have to blow it all for one day.
