NWR: teachers, when does your year end?

As in when are you done w/ observations?
This is my first year and my supervisor told me last Friday that she needs to observe me this coming week and then once again in the next few weeks...and then I should be done for the year!
Not sure the right term, but our 'year' in terms of observations for us is over at the end of February. Observations make me SOO nervous I cannot wait for them to be over so I can focus more on wedding stuff!

btw, how many times a year are you observed? (we are observed 4 times by our supervisor and 2 times by an administrator but the admin. ones don't always happen)

untenured is 3 times per school yr... Tenured is 2 times per school yr. But I am done with all of my observations! I was surprised that I had all of mine done so quickly!

We have 3 observations and 1-2 pop-ins. I just had my first observation the week before school ended. I did not have my follow up yet. But it was with the AP and she was so pleased with what I did and how the lesson went. I have the principle next. GULP! It makes me so nervous. On my demo I was sweating so bad cause I was SOOOO nervous and one of the kids during my lesson says, out loud, You are hot huh? Your sweating? No sh..it kid the principle is in here. OMG!

i had 3 obs so far...my chair, principal and AP
I still have director of math and science and then...
MY TENURE OBSERVATION!

I cannot believe that is here...it is in FEB

Then ater that they leave me alone!

Well, they can observe us as many times as they want. However without tenure they need to observe us 3 or 4 times. I know they can informally observe you up until the last day if they actually wanted to. Formally I think they stop in April because then we need to have an end of the year meeting.

I was already observed formally 4 times and informally maybe 6. I think it may depend on the district and your contract.

untenured it is 3 times... i had them all the way until May/June of last year... however, in your tenure year it has to be done by jan/feb...

I get observed 3 times a year unitl I am tenured. Last year the supervisor came twice and the principal came once. They're usually done by Easter. I only got observed once so far so I know after we get back it will happen again. I was more nervous last year since it was my 1st year teaching, I am a lot more relaxed about it now.

In my school, untenured faculty get observerved 4 times, then just 1 time after tenure! I haven't been observed YET this year, and I am still untenured!!!

I have only one more formal observation. I would be that it will be in February or late January.

In my district it is 3 times for untenured and they have to be done before Feb. and 1 time for tenured and that can be whenever. Your tenure year, all 3 have to be done by December for us.

I think they need to know who is getting tenure and who is not by the end of February. I will probably have one more- I already had my chairperson and the superintendent (for tenure) and I think that the principal will do a pop in at some point.

I have already been observed twice from the principal. One was announced and one was a pop-up. I also got observed by the Director of Special Ed, so thank-God, I'm done for the year!!

4 times in the city for untenured teachers. 2 times if you are. Last year I had three formal observations and 1 unformal.

Do all of you teach on Long Island?

i had 3 already and 1 more this month and that's it! i just finished my tenure portfolio on friday so that goes in this week. i can't wait until it's all over and i have tenure in a few months! (i hope at least!!)

I have 2 formal observations, but the Principal and the AP's are constantly popping in (one of them usually sits in once a week for a few minutes).
