Anyone have a leather ottoman as their coffee table?

I really like the look of one of those big leather ottomans as a coffee table. But I was wondering for those who own it - how functional is it? Do you find yourself wishing that you'd just gotten a hard coffee table to put plates/glasses on or do you just use trays on top of it?

Here's the one we're thinking of getting if that helps

My brother has one - it looks great. They have one of those trays and they put drinks there (if they dare drink around their new leather sofa and ottoman )

That one is from Pottery Barn but I'm interested in seeing other ones since theirs is on the expensive side. Does Storehouse have a website?

my parents have one - but no one uses it to put drinks on - mostly the dog uses it as his bed - but they also have a regular coffee table too

the one my parents hve is from ethan allen is nice- pretty firm - ok to put plates on but even with a tray i think drinks would be unstable

we have a cool cofee table it is a glass top with four otttomans that go under it - good mix of both - and they make some with the storage ottomans

Ours just came in from Ethan Allen and we love it. I ordered the medium Bradford tray from Pottery Barn and we can put drinks on it without a problem. We also got 2 nice size end tables so there is pleanty of room to put stuff.

My aunt has it and it looks great. She has a large tray for glasses and what not. But be careful because she has a crazy beagle who jumped on it and scratched the leather...not good! So it you have pets you may want to be careful, not that they wouldn't do damage to wood or other things too. And BTW, it is a BEAUTIFUL look!

we just have two ottomans that match our catch...

the top flips over and then we can serve stuff from it and it has storage in side for books, dvd's etc..

I have a leather ottoman that is our coffee table and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for us because we love to put our feet up when we watch tv, and we don't feel as bad as we did when we had a glass coffee table. When we want to have a drink or a snack, we have tall wooden tray tables that we can use.

I have a suede ottomon with a tray on top like in your pic. I love it because it's convenient to take the tray off and put your feet up, but it can get annoying when we have people over because there is not much room to put drinks down and there's no room for food. On most days it works for us though and I love how it looks.

We have one and we love it. You can sit on either the loveseat or couch and put your feet up. I also have a leather tray on it.
