How Rude!

Get this my FH's cousin got engaged 3-4 months after we booked our wedding. We find out last night that she decides to get married exactly 2 weeks before us! ( In PA no less) now all his family has to travel to PA for her wedding and then two weeks later to eastern LI for our wedding.( they are all coming from virginia) And now we have to travel to attend her wedding when we are going to have a lot of last minute things to do.I'm not sure if I am over reacting~ but I was floored!

Does the date have some significance for them? If they just picked it at random and could have maybe done it a few weeks earlier, that's a bit rude. If they have a good reason to choose that date, then I think it's excusable, although a bit thoughtless.

ither way, you're certainly entitled to be annoyed, but I wouldn't get worked up over it. I've seen people actually cause family fights over things like this... it's not worth it. No matter what, your wedding will be beautiful!

Some people have no kooth. It's ridiculous. I think you should regretfully not attend. You have enough on your plate to deal with your own wedding. And if they don't understand....Oh well. That is just plain RUDE!!!!

I know exactly how you feel! My roommate from college was talking to me about her and her boyfriend (it’ll be there 4 year anniversary in 2 weeks) and how she’s looking forward to getting married (they talk about it but aren’t officially engaged). Then she tells me, ‘oh I’d be soooo pissed off if Chris (her bf’s brother) proposes to Meghan (his girlfriend) before Andrew proposes to me since they’ve only been going out 2 years’.
This was somewhat an issue for me since my FI didn’t propose to me until our 8 year anniversary and there were a lot of other people going out half as long as us and they were getting engaged. And she knows we’re getting married on 9/8/07.
So then all of a sudden she comes out with ‘so Andrew and I decided we’re going to get married on 7/7/07 and have a Vegas-themed wedding.’ LIKE HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO. You’re pissed and complaining about them possibly getting engaged before you and you’re just going to go and get married 2 months before me?! So basically I haven’t spoken to her since then A because we’re both very busy with our jobs and B because I don’t want to totally blow up at her since they’re not even engaged and booked anywhere.
But I totally feel your ^&*%!^%&$(*@(**!!!! I mean, your day—all of our days—are going to be special in their own right and we shouldn’t compare our event to others, but when someone blatantly does that with no regard of anyone else knowing FULL WELL that you have already made those plans, I have no tolerance for that!

OMG .....honestly I wouldnt go.....but you wanna talk about stealing someones thunder....my FSIL has a SIL that announced her engagement at her engagement party.....and got married a year b4 her on the same date! then was 9 months preg as the MOH in her wedding!!! so it could always be worse
