MAUI & KAUAI--How much $ is it going to be??

My FH and I are planning on going to Maui & Kaua'i for like 9 or 10 nights. Can anyone tell me what the expected average budget will be. This would be including Roundtrip Airfair, car rental, hotel accomodations. We don't want to stay at anything with a rating of less than 3.5 stars. Preferably 4 stars. Thanks so much.
I wanted to stay at the Grand Wilea in Maui & the Hyatt in Kauai'i. But I'm under the impression that we'll be in debt for the rest of the decade with these prices.

We are doing Hawaii for three weeks and Maui and Kauai are two of the islands we are visiting. Bank on approx 800 pp for the flight, approx. 200-300 per night at the hotel and we have the car rentals to do next. The inter islands flights are approx 70-100 each too. These are all approx. Book soon though. The longer you wait the more it will be. We used the ENtertainment book and it was still very expensive.

5 nights in Kaui and 5 nights in Maui both hotels are at the Hyatt with airfare was 7800.00 this includes car island hopper breakfeast and small things that I can not recall we booked but I am afraid we will not be able to afford it. It is once in a lifetime so we will try to save as much as possible and that is on top of paying for the wedding!

we looked into doing that. grand wailea was $600 a night. it came out to almost $8000 including air and hotels.

so we're doing a 12 night cruise to tahiti and hawaii and 2 nights in tahiti. it turned out to be much cheaper.

We went to Hawaii on our honeymoon and we went to Honolulu, The Big Island of Hawaii, and Maui. We stayed at the Grand Wailea on Maui, it is beautiful! We ended up spending a little over $11,000. It was worth it though, we had a great time. To be honest, almost anywhere you stay in Hawaii is beautiful!

We went to Maui and Kaui and stayed at: Kauai Marriot, Hotel Hanna Maui and Four Seasons Maui for 2 weeks, we had helicopter tours, boat trip up napali coast with snorkling, day trip to the big island (flight over), couples massages, rental cars and first class flights. It was about 11,500. That includes meals and gifts too. It was the trip of a lifetime.

MY sis and BIL did that almost exactly, and I think they spent something to the tune of $10K

We stayed at the Grand Wailea in Maui and Hyatt in Kauai ---- the vacation was a LOT of money - the stay is expensive - but where you choose to eat / activities you do will ultimately determine how much money the overall HM will cost. There are definitely less expensive places with great reputations to eat on both islands. We over did it... with our dinners (but we never had lunch) and the few activies we did. Everything is expensive there.
Breakfast could be $50.00 if it is not included in your package.

I've been pricing a similar trip on expedia.com and I was surprised that it wasn't that expensive. We found 8 - nights for under 5K, it might be worthwhile to check that out. I've booked other vacations on expedia and I was not disappointed.

We are going to Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island...our package with flights, cars, and stays at 4-5 star hotels is about $10k.

It would be less for you for two islands.
