Why there are always more people who view your post the respond to it?

Don't you ever get a bit juvenile with this - and think - heyyyyy - what's wrong with my post that I didn't motivate everyone with the beauty of my post to respond to it?

and watch - it'll happen with this post too...

I talked about this with another LIWer...
I never understand why people view the posts and then it goes to the bottom and then out the page.
I undestand when you don't know about the topic but sometimes posts are so simple to answer and brides need advice.
I usually go to the ones that say 1 or 2 replies to help them out. I feel bad.

A lot of times i'll read a post, but just not have a response, or don't have the time to write out the response I want to.

Or, sometimes, I'll click on the post several times to read others responses... which could partially be to blame for higher view counts than post counts.. That is, people like me to read the same post 5+ times!

ETS: Also, everytime you view a post, and then respond, and it goes back to the original post... that counts as 2 views

Also - sometimes the subject matter is vague, so it may draw people in, so I can undertsand if the topic says - anyone else here....

And you need to view the post to see what it may be, and it could say - going on their honeymoon to Alaska? or something, so, ok - we arent going, don't want to post - 'nope, not me,' so we leave it alone and move on, but the ones where 58 people view the SPECIFIC subject post, like - 'Anyone here going to alaska?' and people just click on to view anyway - are they curious to see who posted? Just strange....

BTW - not me - I'm going to Thailand...

You're so funny. I wonder that at times as well but I know for me I'll only respond if I have something to add that could be helpful. Sometimes I read the post and see that others have already responded with what I was going to say so there's no point in just repeating what has already been said. Thailand, huh? Very cool

I don't mean to be accusatory at all ladies - far from it - it's one of those quirks here that I just felt like pointing out - because I know it's so easy to notice!!!

I'm one of those people that just always notice and state the obvious!!!

I know you didn't, just began to worry if people would think that maybe I was - thats another thing with LIW - very hard to read posts the way we mean, because there are no facial expressions or inflections behind it - just poorly typed words!!!!

i think people like to talk about themselves..or talk about things that interest them..

i dont take it personally - id rather have genuine responses than someone responding because its polite, you know?

take a look at the posts where someone asks the forum 'whats your favorite food?' or 'tell me things i dont know about you' etc
those will have a ton of responses

know what i mean

You know, for me it sometimes depends on whether I'm feeling 'talkative' or not. Sometimes I like to read but don't feel like typing or responding. Other times I have a few mins to kill and come online and read some posts, but don't have time to respond.

It's the same for me, sometimes I only have a few minutes, and not enough time to respond. I usually only come on for a few minutes at a time, so if I have nothing helpful to say, I move on.

i just don't really want to answer every post i read. sometimes i'm just flipping around and will read, other times i'll read and post.

i have belonged to so many message boards over the years--this is not abnormal
