weight loss stress
Does anyone else feel pressure about losing 10 or 20 pounds for the wedding? Mine is only 7 months away, and I feel like if I do not lose 10 pounds that I will feel bad about myself on my wedding day. This thinking then builds up pressure. I go to the gym 4x a week, but I can't lose without counting points. Everyone says I do not need to lose weight, but I feel like I do.

Its funny because when I tried on my dress I kept saying I want to lose some weight before the wedding well I put the dress on and it fit perfect! Everyone was like don't worry about it, its perfect. So now I keep saying to myself its ok not to worry about it

Re: weight loss stress
well. first off.. start with little goals... 10-20 pounds seem like alot.. why wont you start with a goal of losing 3 pounds.. then once you get there set another goal for another 3 pounds. 3 pounds is a lot easier to reach than 10.

Re: weight loss stress
I lost two lbs. this week at Weight Watchers and was a little disappointed. I want to lose about 40 pounds by November, and I've been working out every morning before work and this was my first week doing Weight Watchers. I'm staying completely away from chocolate, and I really thought I deserved to lose more than TWO measely pounds for all my hard work! ugh...

Re: weight loss stress
Don't focus on the weight as much but the way you look. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat.I say run and swim and cut out all fried foods and junk food. that in itself is going to help A LOT.

I think two pounds is good. Weigh watchers is tough, but doable.

Re: weight loss stress
I definitaly feel it....I don't really have much time left. I am so disappointed in myself. I lost 20 lbs all togetherbut the extra 10-15 would have really helped me to feel good. I am so afraid to see what my pics will look like, and I just can't seem to stick to strict diet, although I did up my workouts and that is making me feel better. But I know I will hate how I look.

Re: weight loss stress
I think that towards the end you just lose weight because of all the stress! In the summer I was 145 lbs and I am currently 125. I'm very proud of myself but I would have liked to reach 120 for the wedding. I still have a week and a half left though

Re: weight loss stress
I've been doing 4 miles every morning on my treadmill and I changed my diet alot. I'm losing about 5 pounds per week on average. Stay away from white bread and sugar for a while and drink plenty of water. You'll see the pounds fly off
Good Luck!

I agree, the number on the scale isn't that important.
It is how you look and if you are losing inches.
I was able to go down a size and a half and lost 14 pounds in 4 weeks just by meeting with a nutritionist. And working out 5-6 times a week.
You can do it!

Re: weight loss stress
I kept saying I wanted to lose a few more pounds before the wedding also, and seemed to have trouble getting them off. When I went for my second fitting however, my dress had become loose! It was all the running around and last minute stress that did it, plus moving. So, I wound up having to eat more for the next couple weeks (though not too much), to make sure the dress would fit. It did, perfectly.

Weight Watchers is designed for 2 lbs a week weight loss. You may suprise yourself next week and lose more though. Some times it takes your body a little while to readjust. Don't give up!

Re: weight loss stress
Just keep working out...I just started Jenny Craig and in the first week I lost 3.2 pounds. They say in the beginning it's normal for customers to lose between 1-5 pounds a week. I know they have a program designed for those who want to lose 10 pounds. It's an option- all your meal are already made so it makes it real easy. And honstly, the food is bad at all. For my snack today I have their lemon cake!!!

my 'goal' is 10 I have been working out and trying not to eat sweets and have lost 3lbs
when I tryed on my dress....even if I loose the 10lbs it will not make a BIG diff, the dress will still fit the same
I just want to look trim for my HM
and make my self feel better :):)
At least I know I am trying

Re: weight loss stress
Can i ask you guys something - on your wedding day, at that point - do you REALLY think that you are going to think about your weight? Yes - we think about it now - but you will be marrying the man you love - you will be in a beautiful dress and all glammed out partying your butt off - when will you have time to think - dang my thighs look huge????

Re: weight loss stress
I think you make a good point, that there is a lot more important things to think about on our wedding day, but for me it's not just about losing weight for the wedding. I've always struggled with my weight and now is a time to get that under control and changing my (our) lifestyles for the better.Welcome New Vendors
