Votive Placecard Question????????

Any girls who are doing votive placecards or know someone who did it.... Are you going to have the guests get their votive candle before cocktail hour or before the start of the reception??? My concern is that from my expericence not alot of people sit during cocktail hour or they don't sit long (talking, bar, etc.) so I just can't imagine people walking around with a lit candle, a drink, a plate of food, a pocketbook, etc. Help please

Re: Votive Placecard Question????????

Hi we're going to do votives. In my experience people don't usually pick up the placecard until the end, or near the end of the cocktail hour. We're not having our bm light the candles until near the end so the glass doesn't get too hot.

Re: Votive Placecard Question????????

We will have the guests get them after cocktail hour when they go into the reception. I would think people would lose it during cocktail hour - also the glass may get hot.

I am making them myself (with help). We got thevotives on sale at Michaels 4 for a $1.00. We are going to buy vellum and print on - then tie a bow around it - seems easy enough and really cheap

Re: Votive Placecard Question????????

We're doing the votives as well. The guests will be on the gardens for the cocktail hour. From there they will be guided inside and they pick up their candle holder w/placecard and sign the guest book while they find their seat.
