Re: Registering
I registered at two places; Fortunoff's and Macy's.It's actually good to have two (and courteous) - to give your guests lots of options in place, availability, etc.
We registered about a month ago because people were asking us so that they could buy engagement gifts for us (we aren't having an engagement party)
I dont think any time is too early; its up to you.... Most people still dont even know we are registered...
But we will be going back and adding more as it gets closer to the wedding.

Re: Registering
I did Fortunoff and Macy's.... people like to have the flexiblity to go to different places, particualrly as things on your list are purchased. We jtus registered and we're getting married in a year, so i think it's not too early. Depending on if you're havig a engagment party and/or you know people will be getting you things for your engagement, you might want to register now. my mom was adamant that i do NOT have an engagement party as it's a lot to ask people to get you THREE gifts (e-party, shower and wedding) but some people feel differently about that... i didn't want to appear' greedy,' so i did not register before my party.Only thing that i would recommend.... don't put towels or linen on yet... they recommended to me to do that about 4 months before the wedding as linens are seasonal and the ones you want may be gone or no longer carried by the store closer to your wedding. Also, i would ask if the china pattern you're choosing will be around for awhile... same for any other big items... you don't want the things you have on your list to be discontinued in the near future! fortunoff is cool, they put 'not recommended for bridal registry' on certain items they know they will not be re-stocking.
GOOD LUCK! It's fun... and take your Mom or someone like that with you... she was great in terms of knowing what brands were good, what we really do need, etc.

Re: Registering
Yes, FH came with me.... He was the one that actually found the china pattern that we neded up falling in LOVE with and choosing. Quite frankly, he was very good about the hall thing--- he loves to cook, so he picked out all the pots and pans and knives, etc. He actually picked out more things than me! Definitely bring the FH.... they have to eat off those plates for years, too! Have fun! :)

Re: Registering
For the engagement party I just registered at Fortuneoff's. For the shower I will add more stuff to my Fortuneoff registry and also register at Macy's (or BBB).

I brought FH.He loved it.
I think its important because the two of you are going to be using the stuff.... and it should matter what both of you think and want...

Re: Registering
We are registered at Fortunoff's and BB&B. We actually registered early (in October 2005). We decided that instead of getting other kinds of gifts for Christmas and birthdays we would ask our family to get us stuff from the registry. It has worked out great. We already have:Microwave
Coffee maker
Blender
2 vases
frame
Cookware
Knife set
Full set of towels

We registered at BBB. I will probably add Macys but their website stinks so I will do it when I have the extra time.

Re: Registering
I registered at Fortunoff & Pottery Barn. I only started it about a month ago, so you have some time. Believe me-going to the store was not fun. I wanted everything & FH talked me out of so much stuff-little does he know I added a ton of goodies on line. Try to go with your mom & his mom, I think they will be more helpful & enthusiastic.

Re: Registering
I'm registering at Fortunoff's and Macy's. FH doesn't understand why we need 2 places but it's really simple - for the convenience of our guests. some people live very close to a macys and others in LI live close to the fortunoff's so I want to make it as easy as possible on them to go someplace close to their house. I plan on registering this summer because I have no idea when the bridal shower will be.Welcome New Vendors
