Is it ok to wear white?

I had to bring this up. I got criticized the other day for saying I want my wedding dress to be white. And this very nasty women who knows I have childern, made a comment that white wedding dresses should only be worn by 'pure' women. I was so offended. I feel that all women are entitled to wear a white wedding dress, no matter their situation. This women even went so far as to suggest that I wear peach or some other light color, but exclude white from my selection. I really don't understand how people could still think this way. I'm wearing white now no matter what.

oh please - practically no one would wear white if they followed that 'rule.' tell her that she should wear black all time because for her to say something like that is 100% rude and inconsiderate regardless of her personal beliefs

You wear whatever you want! You are the bride! Don't let people push their opinions on you (which you'll get alot of while planning), or make you feel like you have to follow 'tradition'. You do what's right for you.

I am most definately wearing white, but just to make that day even worse. I got into a cab with an elderly couple who were politely aruging. When they asked how long I thought they had been married I answered 30 years, they said 47. Then they went on to complain about how young people rush into mariage and never stay married. And how they were so sick of seeing all these ******* childern and idiot so-called parents who don't know the first thing about a real marriage.

I swear I wanted to hurt them, but I kept my mouth shut. Sometimes it's really hard to be nice to the eldery.

BIOTCH!!!! I swear... I want to make one of those wooden paddles, like we had as hall passes in high school, and carve in it 'Because I'm the Bride, that's why!!!' (it would have glitter, of course!). And then when some idiot like that opens their mouth and offers their unsolicited opinion about my wedding and how, what, where or when they think I should do.... I'm gonna hit 'em upside the head with it!!!!!!
