Calling anyone who is making or made invitations....

Did it take more time than you thought?? Was it worth it?? I made my STDs, and saved $$ and they were just what I wanted. I debating making the invites.....FH is worried it will be too much work. If I decide to make them, it will be 110-120 invites.

Re: Calling anyone who is making or made invitations....

We are assembling them ourselves...saving us about $2-3 an invitation for 130 of them. We chose to have the printing done through the company because we didn't want to deal with screwing too many of them up. Ultimately we decided on thermography anyway. As long as you leave yourself enough time I think DIY is a great way to save $$ and make your invite more personal.

Re: Calling anyone who is making or made invitations....

I made my own - i made about the same number as you need.

I thought it was worth it because my invites were totally unique and exactly what I wanted. It was a lot of work and I did it all by myself (except I had parts printed professionally because I wanted thermography on the invite itself and the RSVP card).

I also did all my paper products for the wedding (table numbers, menus, seating cards) and they all matched, which was a detail that was important to me.

I could have had everything done for less money, but I would have had to make comprimises that I was not willing to make. Had I had someone make me what I made, it would have been much more expensive.

It was also very satisfying to do it myslef, see the results, and get all the compliments!!!!!!!

We went the DIY route w/our invites - totally worth it. Didn't take as much time as I thought it would.
