My friend wants to invite a girl as her date.....

Ok, my good friend who is in the bridal party asked me over email if she could invite a girlfriend for her guest to my wedding.

She just broke up with her boyfriend, and she is really depressed about it. She just wants to know if she can invite a friend of hers (who I know and like) instead of a date.

Honestly, we have received a bunch of no's lately, and I'm a little worried about meeting our minimum.....so, I don't know what to tell her.

What would you do? Would you allow her to bring a friend as a guest?

Sure. One of my friend's husband's will be away on business, she asked if she can bring her friend, whom I know as well, and I said sure. I want them to have a good time, I don't see it as a problem, but it's just IMO.

I'm in this situation and told her yes, but my difference was I'm not crazy about the friend she wants to bring. However, I did invite her and a guest, so I had to keep my lips shut. Although her live in BF's reasoning for not going with her was BS. (She told me 'he doesn't do weddings'.)

Let her bring her friend.
she may need extra support that day as it is she just broke up her boyfriend and you, my lady will be a little busy --- another friend for her not to feel alone is a nice way for you to be her friend and some insurance that she will be okay that day.

me too, especially if she is really hurting...I think we all know that weddings only exacerbate that pain.

Let her bring her friend.

I would let her. I had broken up with a longtime boyfriend a week before a family members wedding....they told me to bring anyone I wanted b/c they had already given in their number.

I have almost the same situation. My coworker broke up with her boyfriend and had no one to bring so she asked if she could bring her friend. I told her absolutely, yes! She was invited with a guest so she can bring any guest that she wishes to...

i dont see why not. if it will make her more comfortable then go for it. you want them all to have a good time! and you haven't reached your minimum yet so i'd say yes.

At my wedding I had friends who bring a friend with them which I did not mind at all.

I would say yes and it was really nice of her to ask first instead of it being a surprise during the wedding.
