Bridal shower or Jack&Jill

I can't decide on which I would rather have. Alot of my friends are guys and I would like to have them there, but I also would like to take the traditional route. Also alot of our guest, and the groom to be, are from out of town.

Or should I not worry about it and just leave it all up to my MOH and my mom??

Maybe you could have a traditional bridal shower and then have a combined bachelor/bachelorette party later that night.

we're doing both! my sister will throw a jack & jill relaxed bbq in the summer--and then a formal bridal shower later on.

share your thoughts with your mom & MOH and see what they are feeling for you. let them know you have so many guys friends you'd like to include. if not--then have a combinated bachelor/bachelorette party

I love the idea of a Jack and Jill cocktail party. I'm considering that even though FH is afraid that I'm trying to change tradition

I wouldn't open gifts at the party but I would do a blanket thank you to everyone and write very personal thank you notes to everyone.

Don't do it. Your guy friends will resent you and you will put them in a wierd predicament b/c they won't want to go and then they won't want to say no either. Trust me I've been to one, it doesn't get fun!

i dont want any men at mine.....the guys can have a get together during that time if they want.....and then come back to carry the gifts!!

that's what we're doing! all the guys are gonna hang out while my shower is going on but i told FH to make sure he's done by 4pm b/c he has to come get me and all the gifts! i prefer the traditional route. the men will just sit there and complain about 'why are you dragging me thru this?'

I know my FH and his friends, would not want to be at the shower. Jack and Jill sounds like a great idea, but lets face it, guys are not into the shower thing like the girls.

Go traditional, your guys friends will appreciate your descion.

My FH is pushing for my shower to be the weekend of his bachelor party so he will be long gone so I don't think he'd prefer a Jack & Jill shower. I know people who've done it and it's been more of a party/get together than a shower per se.
