Inner Envelopes: Am I the Only one....

Who has never got one addressed? They are always blank: My cousins, my sisters, and a few other weddings I have attended.

Are my friends and family just out of the loop and not following proper etiquette? I wasnt even going to put name son them until I saw so many posts about this!!

Re: Inner Envelopes: Am I the Only one....

I have never RECEIVED an inner envelope...so don't worry.

I didn't use inner envelopes, and honestly, think they're a waste of money and TREES.

My inner envelopes came with the invites, it was a package deal. It just been bugging me because i felt like I was the only one that got them blank. I wasnt going to waste my time putting names on them.

Re: Inner Envelopes: Am I the Only one....

Most of the ones I have gotten have been addressed but, we just got one last week from his cousin which wasn't addressed.

If you are going to use them, it might be a good idea to address them specifically to the people you are inviting if you aren't inviting kids or anything or if you aren't inviting the person with a guest.

Phew... Thanks ladies. I was planning on leaving them blank but then started to get confused and wondered if I was imagining that I received them blank.

Only in the past 2 years have I seen names on the inner envelope.

I was really thinking of not even doing them...

Re: Inner Envelopes: Am I the Only one....

Ours came with our invites. The only time I had anything written on it was when we decided to invite my religious cousins with all their kids and the outer envelopes were already addressed. In that case, we just did: Jack and Jill and Family on the inner envelope.

All the wedding invites I have received in the past have been blank too. I will also keep the inner envelope blank.

Re: Inner Envelopes: Am I the Only one....

The only time you address them is if you are inviting children from a family.. Example..

Outer Env. Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith

Inner: John, Jane, Bobby, Sue

( they also get listed in age order) Oldest to youngest.

not true.....it is a personl preference
on the knot, they had a entire page of different examples....

We did Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith and Family on the outer envelope. We had way too many people invited to do an outer and inner envelope.
