Trying on wedding gowns...
Hi all- Okay ladies, don't laugh...but I have absolutely NO IDEA how long it will take to try on a variety of wedding gowns...I am bringing my mom next Wednesday, and would like to make appointments at 2 different bridal shops, but I want to make sure I leave enough time in between to actually make the appointments on time. I'm not a big shopping fanatic, and very rarely try on my clothes before I buy them, so I am really clueless here. Please help!! :) Thanks so much in advance...

Depends on how many you try on in each store. If you might try on 10 dresses in one store, give yourself 1 to 2 hours. I tried on so many, but with most of them, as soon as I put it on I knew it wasn't right, so I immediately took them off. Also, you might try on several and then want to re-try on ones that you liked alot. What stores are you going to? That also may make a difference since the salesperson may spend time with you. Good luck, very exciting!!!

Thanks Nina - I'm looking to go to Lybrook Bridal Center and Beautiful Bride. They are very close to each other, so I don't need travel time...that's why Im soooo confused. So do you think maybe 1 1/2 hours??

I'm not familiar with these places, do they have a big selection like David's bridal? If so, then you will probably try on many dress, so yes 1 1/2 hours is good. I guess it's important to spend time in front of the mirrors and get a good look from every angle. And I thought it was so much fun, that I loved taking my time!!

I did two stores in a day also. I spent about 1 hour at each one. It didn't take me too long to find the one that I really loved. Good Luck!

I never had a gown appt that took less than 90 minutes - a store with a good selection took me closer to 2 1/2 hours to get out of. Don't worry about the appts. Most shops will let you start early or come late if you have to.

I went to both places you are going. I spent about 1 1/2 hours at each I think. You are probably safe if you leave 2 hours, and you could always get lunch in between. (Just a personal note-I got my dress at Beautiful Bride- the girls are absolutely wonderful!)

We made an afternoon out of it
My mom, stepmom, best friend, sister and I went to Macy's (they had a dress I wanted to try on)and the Bridal Suite in Centereach. We made an appointment first thing with Macy's spent 1 1/2 hours there, went to lunch and then spent another 1 1/2 hours at Bridal Suite. I got the first one I tried.Welcome New Vendors
