Reception Prices
Hi Girls,I'm getting a little depressed already and I just started my wedding planning a week ago! It seems like everything is going wrong.
My parents are being so difficult with the month we picked and FH and I are the one paying for the wedding. They want it to be a warm month!! Of course, warm month come with higher price.
Is it unrealistic to find a recetion place for $80/pp in June? Please be honest!!

Re: Reception Prices
i don't think thats impossible...but if you and FH picked that date and you guys are paying for the wedding i think your parents should not have aproblem with the date. May is not that cold.

Re: Reception Prices
May is considered one of the warmer months, but then again these days you can't tell
In my experiance, all months except Jan or Feb were the same price. Only thing that did change the price was day and time of day.
You can most defiantly find a place that will fit your budget. Look on the RH Price 07 thread and you can get some ideas of what the other girls have seen.
Good luck to you

Re: Reception Prices
Oh it's possible. My date is in July and I have $85pp. You just have to ask alot of questions and negotiate with the hall. They'll want your business, so most halls work with you.

Re: Reception Prices
To be honest, in my experience I couldn't find anything for under $100 in June. June is one of the most popular months. Maybe doing a Fri night or Sun wedding would help the price. Where did you look so far?

Re: Reception Prices
Having a day wedding may also be a little less expensive.. originally we wanted May 20, 2007 and we chose April 29, 2007 bc it will still be nice and it was also $15 less a person.. it's also on a Sunday night which is generally less expensive than a Saturday night.. HTH

I've called Fox Hollow, Huntington Townhouse, Crest Hollow, Woodbury Country Club, Leonards....and I think that's it for now! Am I looking at the wrong halls for the price? I actually got these prices from liweddings' reception chart

Are you looking for a night or a day Wedding?? That can cut your cost by $20 a head sometimes. Also, you can negotiate with places when you are sitting with them in person.

Re: Reception Prices
Ask for Saturday prices then ask them how much less would it be for Sun or Friday. Those days are always less expensive.

Maybe think about a sunday night. I am doing it but did not want to consider it at first. BUT my hall way $40 more pp for sat night. And i thought of it this way....ur planning ur wedding in advance, its not last minute. so once u book send out STD's. it will be more than a year in advance. if people want to come they will make their arrangements ahead of time. also a sunday wedding will prob end no later than 12. mine is from 6-12. im getting married at westbury manor, 7/29/07 and their base price with no extras is $90 for the summer.......just soemthing to consider b/c i was stuck on saturday wedding also for a while.
