SWR: FYI.. ING Direct has a GREAT interest rate right now!

FYI, FM me if you want the link to their site, which also comes with a $25 offer for joining and depositing. I LOVE them! I get SOOOO much $$ in interest! You need your bank's checking account to link to the ING one (NEVER had a problem with them at ALL), and everything you save gets 4.75% for their current offer (usually it's about 3.8%), so do it now to make more $$! And you don't have to tie your $$ up in a CD! You just have to make sure that you give it about 3 days to transfer back into your bank account when you need to use it. I have a wedding account, and an Italy account for my parents through them, and it's AWESOME watching that interest pile up! HTH!

I just looked up HSBC... I only saw the offer for 4.8%, but then I'm sure it will drop to much less than that. ING consistently has a great rate, and it's about 1% more right now.

I didn't see anything on HSBC offering 8%.. not even a cd.

That would have been nice!

It's true...

My DH and I opened an ING account before we got engaged and began saving. By the time the wedding was here we made a whole lot in interest!

It's true...

I don't believe ING has a min. amount to deposit. We earned so much interest before the wedding on our money. Now, we're earning even more since we paid for the wedding in cash. I am trying to save as much as I can so I can earn extra $$!

I looked at both rates and just to clarify, the rates are only applicable for new $$ you put into account during the 'Sale Period' (4/15/06 for ING and 4/30/06 for HSBC). This means you only get 4.75% or 4.8% for new money you put in now through April and only till the respective April end dates. On 4/15/06 it reverts back to it's regular rate (still 3.8%) but the sale rate is not for the whole year!!!
