I got my placement today for my part-time student teaching (in the fall) and I got placed in the Central Islip School District., Any feedback or info?? I'm doing elementary so I could be placed in grade 1 through grade 6.

I did my observations in central islip in a catholic school. i enjoyed it. the children are of course very economiclly disadvantaged which is sad, and they are all minorities. I thought that they were better behaved and smarter than when I did my student teaching at an all white public school....You will love it!

I did student teaching in spanish harlem. Central Islip can't be all that bad

It'd be good if you got a job there-- they are the highest paid teachers in Suffolk County-- in ten years at top pay teachers there will be making over 200k (current contract)
