Pre-Cana Tonight and Tomorrow
I thought I'd share with you my feelings on the pre-cana, since not many people do on this site, and yet, it is such an important part of our marriage (for Catholics) preparation. Tonight was the service, which FH and I found very touching. We both felt so comfortable and just 'right' in the church amongst all these other couples, and everything that the priest was saying, we were able to relate to and just felt so comfortable with each other, the fact that we're getting married in church and just having God in our lives...what an amazing feeling...sitting there with my FH in church thinking about the fact that we will be receiving the sacrament of marriage and spending the rest of our lives together. We're both very spiritual, although we dont attend church regularly. It was just so nice to sit back and reflect on what marriage really means to us. Tomorrow is Part Two, with the couple that will be counseling us. We met them tonight and they are just so sweet...I cant wait for tomorrow...we also have to write a 'Love Letter' to each other which we will exchange at the end of pre-cana...I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!I will make sure to post my update.
**UPDATE**
OMG...part two ended up being COMPLETELY different than the night before...we sat for about 7 hours in a gloomy auditorium on hard chairs, and were lectured by the couple that you could barely hear! There was appx 75 of us and we sat in the back...some of the topics were interesting and FH and I had a lot of fun going through the exercises. However, we thought that it would be so much different...a little bit more spiritual...instead, it was really a drag...the funniest part was when towards the end one of the guys asked the lady if we could go home earlier so that we can practice it all
it was so funny...Overall, it was an ok experience...they definitely should have younger couples hosting the pre-cana, and hold the meetings in well-lit places so that couples feel a little more awake...thats just my take on it.

Yeah... I think even my FH likes it more than he thought he would. I almost had to drag him kicking and screaming to our first night. Our second night was this past week, and my FH was sick, so we have to make it up one on one next week. I'm really getting a lot out of it... and I love it. I can see my FH suprisingly opening up during the sessions, which I'm THRILLED about. I REALLY like pre-Cana... it's so important and effective!

I will be starting pre cana on wed night. We are going to the couples house so hopefully it will be a more inviting atmosphere. We have to go Wed nights for 3 weeks. I'm looking forward to it.

I don't want to sound like it was horrible but it was just different than we expected it to be.

Oh, Oh. Ours was an older couple too. Yeah, it was good but it definitely was not spiritual at all. I found it to be a bit more like counseling!!!
