Garter Toss Question

How many of you are doing garter tosses? FH and I aren't sure how many single guys are going to get up and actually try to catch it at our wedding. FH keeps saying he doesn't want to do it cuz some of his friends probably won't get up and that we don't have that many single guys. I think we have enough guys to get up and do it. We have atleast 5 that will probably just get up and do it. Plus I want to do the bouquet toss and wear the garter to be tossed. Please give us advice so I can prove to him that it will be fine to do.

Hi Remember at my friend's wedding I caught the boquet and they never did a garter toss. At the time I though it was odd, but we may actually do that at our wedding.

B/C we don't have many single friends we've decided to not do the garter toss, but I have been to weddings were they only toss the bo-k.

We are thinking about the garter toss but we want to see how many singles are actually going to be there. IF there aren't many we are going to do the 'anniversary dance'.

It's a little too 70's for me.
It's really cheezy!
I've seen it at a bunch of weddings and it never seems right.
That's one of the first things I whacked during the planning process.

We are definitley doing it. We just went to my cousins wedding last night and it was done and I still love it.

We arent doing either. Insetad of making the single girls battle for a boquet of flowers we are doing an ALL GIRLS dance in honor of all of my female friends and my mother that passed 2 years ago.
During the dance I am going to hand each girl a single orchid.
As a joke, when FH goes to get my garter he is going to pull out a racy red thong and then probably give it to someone...we havent decide who yet~ (maybe my dad>>>??lol)

we're doing the garter toss because FH wants to. I haven't decided yet about the bouquet toss.

FH has a lot of guys from work and his fraternity that he will probably want to invite, so I don't think there will be too much of a shortage of single guys.

we arent doing a toss but instead an anniversary type thing that my dj recommended. we call up all of the couples who are married based on their wedding date most recent first and so on... the couple who has the oldest wedding date.. (i'm hoping my grandparents!) get the garter and the flowers and dance with us, and if they want to the groom puts the garter on his wife.. its sweet and a lot more sentimental to me .. HTH

We aren't going to do the garter/bo-k toss. I am one of the last of my friends and family to get married. There aren't enough single people coming to our wedding that would justify it. The last few weddings I've been to the dance floor had like 5 girls standing there waiting for the bo-k, same with the guys and the garter.

I do think it's a sweet tradition and might consider it if our guest list was a bit different.

I am hoping to do one.. I'm not sure how many single males (or females for the bo-k toss) will actually be there... we def. want to do one though!

i am not going to have it bc i have noticed most girls and guys don't want to go up for it -

also when i talked to my DJ he basically said 'oh no one does that anymore'

I have something special planned for my bo-k but i can't mention it on here bc it will ruin the surprise!
