work invite dilema

OK, so the wedding is 16 months away, & I started working with a group of 9 girls ( I like them all!!) and they are the very friendly type, always invited & going to each others events. Now we chose our hall many months ago, & I know for certain I can not ask all of them with dates (everyone is married or engaged.), we can only accomadate 160 & that is our list already. Is it wrong to just ask the girls without dates & hope they understand? Would you be offended by that? We can acomadate another table,but if they are all invited with guests that is 2 tables... Any suggestions? They are already talking about my wedding.... I dont know if I should put it out there now that we might not be able to have them...

I'd be more inclined to go to a daytime wedding without my (soon to be) spouse, then to an evening wedding. Perhaps you could let them know your dilemma with space and tell them that they are invited solo as a group, but spouses will be added, space permitting. Sounds like a nice group of co-workers that would understand.

I agree. Keep the spouse/fiance invites on an as-space permits basis. Since the group gets along so great, they should have fun anyway. It would be different if they were all from different departments and didn`t know each other. Make sure to tell them it`s a space thing, and I`m sure they will be understanding. I wouldn`t be offended.
