Relatives who bud in. What is the strangest things yours have said?

My Aunt said to me & FH-Is my brother going to be the best man? She is very well aware that my brother and FH are not close. (From day 1, my brother has been cold and unfriendly to him. Keep in mind my brother is 46.) I said 'no' my FH's brothers are not even his BM.

My other aunt said-Please have your wedding after my grandsons. (They had their wedding planned first). Our wedding is a month before his. She is not happy, Oh Well! We are older and don't want to wait. She said that cause she doesn't want the spotlight taken away from him. (not because of $$, they have plenty).
I haven't gotten aggravated, these things just crack me up.

I can't even begin to write what FH's brother said. There's not enough room.

Hey Joyce! So...the plannings going well I see! Too funny. What's up with your relatives? I'm glad your smiling though That's all you can do! I don't kow if it's hormonal or what but I am in a screw everyone mindset. I'm glad to see your kind of doing the same!

I was told by FMIL's aunt to not dare wear white b/c a bride over 20 should never. She then proceeded to tell FMIL she should wear white to the wedding.

My mom thinks the weding fh and I are throwing for ourselves is really for her. She has asked if she could have a special dance with just her and her aunt (who is like a mom to her). Her aunt is a dance teacher and she actually suggested that she choreograph a routine that they could perform together for everyone. My aunt couldn't believe my mom would have the b*lls to even think that up let alone actually say it out loud. I just sadly, I've gotten used to this being the 'mom' show.

hmm i have a good mom story.

when discussing favors with my mother i told her i didnt want to follow the italian custom of getting ridiculous favors - since i am paying for the wedding myself and i figured i could cut some of the cost there - so i told her i would get those little wine stoppers because they are useful and cute- she was horrified by this idea . . . .

so, i walk into my engagement party and there on the table in little clear boxes. . . the EXACT wine stoppers that I picked out. . . .as my e party favors so now i couldnt use them for the wedding!

the only good thing to come out of all this is now my dad felt so bad for me he offered to pay for my wedding favors - he knows how psycho my mom is too!

also my family has been complaining non stop about getting married in the winter when it may snow - and getting married so far and not providing transportation ( Queens to LI, isnt really that far! lol)

Mibne butt in all the time - sometimes I ignored them, sometimes I told them plain and simple - nope, not happening....

I can write a book... here was my favorite though.

We got engaged on December 19th, 2003... FH's Sister got engaged five months later and said to my fiance... 'Oh well you two got engaged first, but we are going to get married first.'

Umm, are we racing to the alter or something?

She planned her wedding before ours (she is already married) and we were told by his parents 'oh wait a year for yours please!'

And this is where it all began....
