MY GOODBYE.... I Cant believe this is IT!!!!!

AHHHHHH! I will say what everyone says in that I have waited a very, very long year and eight months to write this goodbye. I can’t believe that I will FINALLY be walking down the aisle in such a short time, as Rob and I first met in High school history class almost 8 years ago.

I feel like everything I went through to get to this moment is truly validated in that I’m finally getting want I have always wanted. Rob was in the Marines for 6 long years and consequently we have had to put a lot on hold. Many special occasions were missed or ruined due to his deployments and obligations and I was forced to go to my first day of student teaching the day after he left for Iraq. It was a long and difficult road and somehow we still wound up together at the end of it. NOTHING in the world in more special to me than the moment that I welcomed him home from that time he spent at war, and I can only hope that the moment I see him wearing his dress blues at the other end of the aisle will be just as spectacular.

We are truly accomplishing our dreams one by one. A funny story…when I first met Rob.. he swore he’d never get married and would live alone with a dog that he’d name Fred….We have our “dog named Fred”, we are getting married and we will be closing on our house a few days after we return from Mexico. I just feel so blessed that we are able to do this at our age, as I know that it was very different for my parents when they got married.


I must say that I am so happy that I found LIW. I have gotten to know so many of you and stolen countless ideas. I truly feel like my wedding would not be as special as it is without the extra touches I have added due to my 05’ers and 06’ers. I must thank Ron and Liz for creating such an amazing resource for us girls who have wanted to have our dream weddings since Barbie and Ken days.
I also have to thank Diana(Mrs_B) for being the very first person to befriend me on LIW because we were ALMOST dress twins and the rest of the 05 crew for letting me hang with them since I was SUCH an early arriver as an 06 bride.

As for my 06’ers I love you all and am so happy to share this time with all of you. I am especially honored to say that two of my LIW friends were so nice as to accept invitations to attend my wedding and I need to give Leslie(official Fred thought-bubble maker) and Kathleen a big hug in advance for that. I can’t wait to see you ladies!!!! As for everyone else, I simply cannot single out all of the ladies that I wish to thank as I really truly need to thank you all in one way or another. I have truly enjoyed watching the 06ers before me get married and will be looking forward to watching the rest of our year go by as an old married lady. I do promise to have a killer bar-b-que when we get settled in our little house….I know Fred has a lot of friends to meet!!!!


For my date twins.. 7-7-06 ROCKS. I think we hold a record for the most frequent posters getting married on the same day and I CANT wait to hear all about your weddings.

I will be popping on and off tonight and tomorrow morning before the rehearsal madness starts. I am very emotional today and I feel like everything is wrong, which is completely crazy because I have micro-managed every aspect of this wedding. I think I’m just overwhelmed, but I’m feeling very bummed at the moment. I know it will pass and Ill be happy as can be once everything finally gets started. ?


Rob and I are leaving for Mexico on Sunday so I will try VERY hard to pop on here Saturday to say hello. I will give Leslie and Kathleen permission to post a few pics so you wont have to wait till we get back!!!!

WOW! Jen I have to say that I never knew a little love for Bon Jovi could have forged a friendship based in wedded bliss! I am so thrilled for you and Rob. We are honored to be with you to share in celebration of your marriage. Despite the fact that he will be left at home, I know in my heart that Fred is happy that Rob is making you an honest woman!
