Honeymoon help -- Aruba? (kinda long)

I have started looking at options for our honeymoon and I am having the hardest time!!!

First we were looking into sandals, but I wanted at least a room with a balcony and the prices were starting to get a little high for us (over 5K without airfare). I also really want a place with room service and only the top of the line rooms included that.

So now I have started looking into aruba. We really want an all inclusive (I know aruba has great restaurants, but we love the idea of having food and drinks included). We figure we can always go out for dinner once or twice if there is a place we are dying to try.

So i looked at the Occidental, which i realize is under construction, but our HM isn't until next may so I figure it will be done. has anyone seen it recently to know how far along they are?

Any other recommendations for All inclusives in Aruba?

They prices for aruba seemed cheaper than sandals for a better category of room.

Sorry this is so long...I don't know why I am having so much trouble with the HM!!

the divi supposedly has all inclusive but i dont think the rooms are as nice as the occidental. but it all depends on what you want.

Re: Honeymoon help -- Aruba? (kinda long)

I HEARD the divi is a little bit of a shack of a hotel, and a lot of young people go there...however it is not a high rise and heard it had a nice beach.

We were supposed to go to Aruba but changed it to go to Tahiti. We were booked with the Wyndam...check this hotel out, its a high rise. The only negative thing I heard was that you have to wake up real early to get a spot on the beach

Re: Honeymoon help -- Aruba? (kinda long)

BUCUTI!!!--- adults only *virtually... best private beach...

Raaaaave reviews on the Hm board .. also you can read all about aruba at www.aruba-bb.com you have to register I think but its free and well worth it those people travel every year!

its close to the 'high rise' section i think like a 8 buck cab ride.. you get a dinner on the beach and breakfast every day...
we're going in april and i can't wait (i might be more excited for Hm then the wedding haha )

Re: Honeymoon help -- Aruba? (kinda long)

the divi aruba// tamarijn is awesome if you go there NOT looking for luxury. The rooms are clean and simple - nothing luxurious - just hte basics

BUT at the tamarijn you walk out right on to the sand - it is RIGHT on the beach. . . it is not gourmet food but it is YUMMY food and it is all inclusive- great drinks included too

there are lots of things to do that you can plan out of the hotel . . . very helpful

i loved it there and cant wait to go back BUT if you go there looking for luxury you WILL be disappointed. . . i just want a beautiful beach, my honey, and LOTS and LOTS of alcohol

very reasonable prices also - i wanted to go there for 2 weeks rather then somewhere more expensive for one week!

FM if you would like more details
