Lawyer brides? Guest list question

How are you handling who you are inviting to your wedding from work?

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

FH is a lawyer and he invited a lot of people from work, but he didnt want to just invite his close friends so he invited almost everyone he works with on a day to day basis within his office.

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

I only invited the one person I socialized with outside of work. Most of the other attorneys who got married the year before I did also only invited the people they were friends with outside of work. I don't think anyone cared or was offended.

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

I invited my immediate supervisor, my former secretary, and two other people that I socialize with. The remaining @ 75 people I did not invite.

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

I think I'm going to invite partners and those that I socialize with out of work only.

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

FH invited his entire class (small class - 5 people) but no partners, etc. I invited a partner and a few associates (those who took me to my new firm) and a few associates that I was close with from my prior firm. I had been planning on inviting my entire department since we're pretty small (10), but then I switched firms right before the invites had to go out so I thought that would be awkward. i didn't invite anyone from my new firm - I barely met them at the time.

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

I'm a sole practitioner. At my former jobs, people usually invited at least some co-workers. Everyone selected guests differently. Anything goes, from what I have seen.

I invited some former colleagues who have become friends and 1 of the ALJs that I used to work for. I also invited a few people that I have regular interactions with through my solo work.

My opinion is that a few work people should be there, as long as you like them!

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

My firm has two offices (NY and NJ, they operate as one). I invited my old secretary (who is in my bridal party and she is one of my best friends lol), the partners i associate with on a regular basis from the NJ office and the other associates from the nyc office where i work. Problem is that every single one of them pretty much left (small office). I didnt bother inviting the new associates that started, as the invites were already done. if you work in a large office, i would only invite the people u are close with.

Re: Lawyer brides? Guest list question

I did not invite anyone from my office. I had only been with the firm a little over a year. Small firm with 4 partners and 6 associates. I was lucky that they threw me a bridal shower the week before my wedding.
