Photography Questions

Hi, I've been around the boards since December, but have never written in. Now that we're trying to find a photographer for our June 29, 2007 wedding I definitely need some help!

Can you please let me know the going rates for a photographer who will provide AT LEAST:
our wedding book
2 parents books
a couple of enlarged prints (5x8s and 9x11s)
copy of all proofs without Photographers logo
AND
a mix of black & whites along with color
plenty of candid shots in addition to posed

Also, is there any difference in the clarity of enlarged pictures taken digitally or with film?

Our wedding will begin at the church at 4pm and the reception follows at the Thatched Cottage from 7-12:30am

Thank you for all your help!

Re: Photography Questions

There are 32 photography vendors on this LIW web site. I suggest you look at their work, and then contact a few with these questions. Choosing a photographer based on package doesn't make too much sense to me. One photographer might use a better album maker, so it's like comparing apples and oranges. But more importantly, what good is getting the 'better' package if you're not crazy about the photos?

I've made 20x24 photos from my digital camera that are virtually identical to those taken with film.

Re: Photography Questions

Thanks for the information. I didnt realize that there were so many photography studios present on this website. I've had trouble getting some photographers to indicate their price ranges without setting up an appointment. We dont have too much free time so I just wanted some idea of what a fairly typical package would cost, not that we're going to choose a photographer based solely on what they offer.
