RON - Idea to weed out 'fake brides!' (and make some $$ for the site!)

With the trouble we've had on here as of late, ever consider charging a SMALL fee for registering with liweddings? I'm talking a one time registration fee of even 5 bucks? That way, no one can ever be TRULY anonymous to YOU guys - and they won't want to spend ANY amount of money to make up a screen name to come on here and be annoying to us 'good' brides!

Just a thought...

eta: okay... never mind! Thought it was a good idea, until I learned that Ron knows all (he's like JESUS! STILL love that image!

) and can tell a person's IP address of a computer if they try to register over and over and over with different screen names. So, that's a better way to block people and we don't get charged. Wahoo!

i would pay 20 bucks! i wouldn't care about the $ and it would help get rid of a lot of garbage! good idea sarah-- see, how good are you?!

yes, but then they would have to input credit card info-- so then hopefully ron would be able to know who did what-- b/c of the credit card info.

BUT i say the girls on here that are loyal as of now should get the fee waived! haha......
or once they reach a cerin time frame or # of posts you get your $ back?!

exactly! I would pay more to be part of this site! I was just paying $5 since the goal wouldn't be for it to be a money making venture... just a deterrent.

I don't know, I don't think people would really go that far. And if they DID, they would think twice about signing up again for a new screen name if they already paid.

I would not pay to be on this site. I think that we pay with our information. I have gotten countless mailings and emails from wedding vendors. I understand that is how the site works and that is fine with me, but I wouldn't pay additional money

I think it is a great idea! Even if you charged an initial $10 fee and then if you book a vendor from this site you can use the $10 towards your balance with them. This way that promotes the vendors from this site and you know you will only have brides signing up.

exactly...how many girls joined and months pass before they post at all? i am pretty sure i wouldn't sign up for a site i had to pay for.

as for really weeding people out, Ron is able to block IP addresses. he knows if you create a new name because he knows which IP address it is coming from and just knows. i had an ID on LIF and he KNEW it was me, he FMd and asked. it was over a personal matter.

pedophiles pay big $$$$$$ to do it, you think $5 is going to stop someone from torturing some brides?

Yeah, they would lose alot of users, no one is going to put there credit card info for a chat site. I know I wouldnt.

I agree. If I were a Newbie, I'd be hesitant to join. The site being free is what helps it to grow so quickly. The more the merrier.

Lmao I was hoping he'd be able to see IP addresses! That's awesome. The idiots on here that thought they could get away with torturing people probably had no idea that Ron was 10 steps ahead of 'em!

Agreed. I wouldn't pay either.

I also didn't find the whole fake bride thing to be that bad.

Other message boards on other topics have problems with trolling much worse than here.
