Bourne Mansion, Woodlands Mansion, Milleridge Cottage, East Wind
I have been looking for a place to get married for the last few months and have narrowed it down to these four. I love the Bourne Mansion so much but it is very expensive with the site fee. I am so confused and am wondering if anyone has any opinions on my choices. Help......

Re: Bourne Mansion, Woodlands Mansion, Milleridge Cottage, East Wind
I too am biased when I say I agree that the Bourne Mansion is beautiful, but Ben is a pain in the *ss to deal with. He offers little if any information so I need to be totally on top of him about everything. It is really expensive and had I not booked it well over a year ago, before I even considered how much the other vendors would have cost me, I think I would have given the cost some serious thought. But unfortunately it is the most beautiful RH I had ever seen and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will all be worth it! You just need to weigh the pros and cons. Don't worry, you will make the right choice!Good Luck!

Re: Bourne Mansion, Woodlands Mansion, Milleridge Cottage, East Wind
I've been to weddings at the Woodlands and East Wind (The Estate). I loved both! It's tough I liked the setting of the Woodlands better as well as the location bc it's not as far out east as East Wind but I prefered the food at East Wind more. The food at the Woodlands was very good too but I just liked it a little more at East Wind. If it comes down to price my guess is that you could get a better price at East Wind. My friend is having her wedding at the Woodlands on a Saturday afternoon in November and is paying around $140 pp. Ouch!Either way they are both great choices
PS-I can't say anything about Milleridge or Bourne. I 've never been to either of them.

Re: Bourne Mansion, Woodlands Mansion, Milleridge Cottage, East Wind
I had visited the Woodlands and it was very nice. They quoted me a good price and gave me alot of extras if I booked with them. The grounds are nice. The ballroom was ok, it had a rectangular shape so the people in the back could not see what is going on in the front. Something was missing from that place, I dont know what it is
, I almost booked with them but I didnt.

I'm bias...I love East Wind!! We fell in love with the Estate and the Inn when we went to look. We looked at other places, but no other place compared to it. It's so nice to have the Inn right there for guests and you to stay at. Definitely my choice!!I have been to events at Bourne ( for work, around 800 people) and I have to say that I still like EW better- just my preference.

I got married at the Bourne and it was worth every single cent that I paid. People are still saying what a fabulous place it is. Ben was great to work with, he answered all my questions and gave me some good deals at the end too!!!!

Re: Bourne Mansion, Woodlands Mansion, Milleridge Cottage, East Wind
I haven't been to the Bourne Mansion or Woodlands but both seemed very nice. I almost booked East Winds but it was too far from my Church and I didn't want people to have to trek out there after going to the Church in Bethpage. I liked the Milleridge a lot. I really wanted more of a mansion-type feel, but felt we got the most 'bang for our buck' at the Milleridge. Everyone had a great time and I was very pleased with how things turned out. If money is an issue and you can't/don't want to spring for the others, I do have to say that the Milleridge puts on a great event at a great price.

We haven't been to a wedding at any of these, but our top choice-if we had all the money in the world-would have been Bourne Mansion. It took our breath away the minute we saw it.

Re: Bourne Mansion, Woodlands Mansion, Milleridge Cottage, East Wind
I am biased here in saying Milleridge Cottage. We looked at over a dozen places before choosing. MIlleridge was so pretty and simple and elegant and the food is wonderful and staff so courteous. You get your money's worth at Milleridge.

Re: Bourne Mansion, Woodlands Mansion, Milleridge Cottage, East Wind
I am looking there too for our wedding!! I love it there but have the same problem...it is expensive and the site fee does not help at all! I wanted an 'old fashion' place. Have you looked at the Vaderbuilt Mansion in Dowling College? We looked there too and it is cheaper, but can't hold a lot of people. The Bourne is our first choice but we are going to look at the Thachted Cottage. Have you heard anything about that place??
