Please share with me, your happy, pleasnt storys of getting your wisdom teeth pulled out so I dont have to be so scared! (if there is such a thing)

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

no worries - i got three out at once. . . they put me in twilight which was like being really really effed up. . and dont worry that is all i kept saying when it was done
'whoa i am really effed up' lol i had the dentist and staff cracking up

anyway - it wasnt bad. the only one that bothered me was the one that wasnt out yet - that was kind of like a real surgery. and i got good drugs after so that was nice. . .

recovery is two days TOPS and you will be fine!

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

Yeah I agree... especially for the bottoms... get them done together! First I only had one of my top ones removed because it was bothering me and then I was getting the rest out a month later when I was done with school. The 1 top was so much easier than the bottoms, they hurt so bad! To make it worse I had a sensitivity to the pain meds, Darvocet, and got sick! It's definatley not fun to get sick when you have stiches in your mouth! But in the end, I'm so glad I had them taken out! They hurt so much before, and now I never have to worry about them again! And FH had his out a year after me and had no problem at all, he was even eating regular food the next day. I'm sure you will be fine. And then you'll never have to deal with them again!

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

My dentist told me that I had to get them taken out immediately or they would really start to bother me, and that was over 6 YEARS AGO!! Talk about avoiding something!! I figure i should just get it over with!

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

honestly, although it wasn't fun (I had all four pulled in 1999), I think the anticipation of pain was much worse than the actual pain. The first night I was uncomfortable, but not in pain as I was doped up. Each day got a little better, bit it really wasn't as bad as I had expected.

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

I'm going to be honest! My top ones didn't bother me at all I went to a bridal shower the next day and drank and I felt fine. The bottom I got done on a Friday and was out of commission all weekend. But they give you great drugs.. I went to Siegel and Mazzei in Massapequa. They were great. I got sweet air in the beginning with some drugs to knock me out. I woke up and my mom said she couldn't stop laughing at me because I kept asking what time it is and how I got here. You should be fine!!!! I'm sure child birth is more painful then the teeth

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

Good Luck!! I hate Wisdom teeth!!!! I prefer to be more stupid than to have them come in and be any more wise

You're lucky though that your dentist will do all 4 at once.. Mine wouldnt!! I had to wait until each one causes me pain!! I still have 2 in my mouth!!

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

Why would the dentist choose not to do all 4 at once?? Do you think its worse for the patient to do all 4 at once, but the dentist wants to do less work?? Do you think my dentist is a butcher????

I have no clue.. But honesly i would rather go through a little more pain for the 3 or 4 days than 3 or 4 days 4 TIMES!!

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

All four of mine were taken out at different times. It wasn't that bad.
One the day before my birthday
Another the day before New Years Eve
Next a day or two before a wedding I was going to
The last one it wasn't by anything special so I don't remember.

Re: NWR: Wisdom teeth are coming out!

I got all of mine out at once and they put me in the twilight sleep also. It was great one minute you are talking to the doctor the next you are all done. I loved it...lol They gave me some vicodin which was great that helped a lot. It wasn't bad. The only thing that bothered me was when it was healing I guess the bones have to go back in place but that is when I took vicodin and I wasn't in pain and sleeping. Don't worry it is all done soon and you will be glad to have them out before they bother you. The doctor told me it is better to get them out by 25 if you have to because the older you get the harder it is.

no worries - some dentists think its better to take them out only if they bother you
and others think its better to just take them all out before bc they dont really do anything. . .

so my first dentist told me to wait and that is why all my teeth got pushed forward - but then i found one who took out the two 'okay' teeth along with the one that was killing me!
