Which is the best Photographer? w/poll

I have some photo/video appointments next week. I dont want to visit all the photo studios so please help me narrow it down. Which place is worth it? Please write your experiences, positives and negatives.

Re: Which is the best Photographer? w/poll

I did not use any of these, but have seen their work. I voted for Sherwood Triat.

Of those you listed I did meet with Twelfth Night and Patken.

Re: Which is the best Photographer? w/poll

if you choose Doug from Patken (he is the owner), he blows everyone else out of the water. He did my brother's wedding (my brother is a cinematogpher).

Re: Which is the best Photographer? w/poll

IMO, you are going to have people posting about their opinion and it's going to be all over the place.

I suggest you meet with them and see if YOU and YOUR DH like their style. Not asking us! What I may like may not be what you like.

Sorry to be so bluntly honest.

Maybe you could check the review board to see the reviews and style of each photographer.

I agree, everyone is gonna say what their opinion is and you'll have a bunch of different answers, which might just confuse you more...Also remember everyone has different taste, some like more traditional, others like more photojournalistic. You have to decide which studio represents more the style you are looking for. Everyone has different things they look for in a photographer so its more about personal taste.

When i was looking at a bunch of photographers work i was looking to see who had more of the style i was looking for...Yes i saw alot of work that i thought looked great, but nothing really jumped at me...Finally I found a photographer and saw their work and thought ok WOW that is EXACTLY the style i want, and their work blew me away.

If you are undecisive about any of them then maybe none of them really jump out at you, and think about why dont they. Until you see their albums and alot of their work you wont know who would produce the pics you are looking for. Also your communication with them, how you two interract is very important.

OK... I would pick 12th Night. That still does not mean you are going to like them.

I would not pick Sherwood.

Did you check the Bride review board? You may have a 'better' idea of past experiences from brides who used them already at their wedding. Just an idea!

when i was look for certain vendors i did a search on brides review for each vendor, it helps bc you hear after the wedding their whole experience before, during and after the wedding.

Also to narrow your choices down, look at their sites again and narrow it down to photographers whose work really speaks to you and sticks out more than the others. Eliminate those that yes you may like but the others impressed you more.

Out of the 4 you posted. I saw both sherwood triart and patken at bridal shows, looked through their albums and spoke to them. I thought sherwood triart did great work, one of the girls who was working at the booth i didnt care for much but i have to say the other lady was nice and helpful. Also sherwood is the most expensive out of them all so dont know if that will be a factor.

Patken, they also did great work, the guy was ver nice and helpful...Now the thing is that you dont know right away who your photographer will be, dont know if this matters to you or not...They pick a photographer later on for you that they think will be best for you. So this is something also to consider

Re: Which is the best Photographer? w/poll

I went to all 4 of those photographers....but did not pick any of them. I went Duet for budget reasons (o...and i love the pics too). The budget ruins everything!!!!

If I had my ultimate choice I would have picked Franklin Square. I liked the family business, 2 photographers & 2 videographers (felt like everything would be covered) the fact that everything was done there (except binding), customer service...really everything except the price. However, you do get alot more in your package there (very comprehensive) , much more so than Sherwood Triart. BE prepared to sit there for 1.5-2hours. They spend alot of time with you.

12th night to me is similar to Franklin Square...family business idea, great customer service and such, but much more affordable. I loved their work....but felt I was getting more with Duet than 12th night.

Patken....I went to the mineola office and wasn't impressed at all with their facility....which surprised me because I heard great things. I was quoted more for their package and getting less than 12th night and duet.

Hope this helps. FM if you need.

When I went to Patken she said they would match a photographer to my personality....whatever that means. I am not sure in the 20 minutes that I spent listening to her schpeell (sp?) she could match me up.
