Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?
Someone asked for our DJ's phone number because they wanted to make a dedication to their husband. FH said he would ask DJ to play the song but no dedications. I am still in shock that someone would do that.

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?
LOL!
Someone asked my FH if the reception hall would be able to accomodate them a little early...like a pre-cocktail hour. Hello? There's only about an hour and a half between our mass and cocktail hour-can't you just go grab a cup of coffee or something and kill a little time? We've just about hit rock bottom financing our reception and think that hosting a party with cocktail hour, dinner, dancing and dessert is enough!! We can't swing a pre-cocktail hour.
I really hope I'm not coming across as mean or insensitive! It's just that I've killed hours between wedding masses and receptions, and never thought it was a big deal.
This request came from friends who are not married. I guess they haven't been in our shoes so they don't understand.

One person in my wedding party implied that I CAN'T get married at my reception site because they "serve too much seafood".

I'm not having children at our wedding and someone asked if they could bring their kids and if the country club would set up a tent for kids to stay in!

Not only that but then she said to FH,"You know the party isn't really for you. It's for all the guests."
FH said "You're wrong! The party is for US and you were invited to join us.WE'RE PAYING FOR IT."

A dedicated to THEIR husband What is wrong with these people? I need to think about this question for a while. Nothing I have can top wanting to dedicate a song at my wedding though. That is a new one!

not have a Christmas wedding since the Florida relatives (maybe 4 all together) don't want to fly up in the cold weather

My grandmother said I couldn't get married until my older brother gets married. She says it's tradition that the oldest gets married first. My parents told her she was nuts! LOL!!

Delay the ceremony until 12:30 PM (from 11:30 AM) because it is too early in the morning. Then she proceeded to tell me that I may not look my best in the morning. WTF!!!!

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?
These are too funny! My mother told me that I HAD to have high centerpieces or she would never talk to me again! She's a little dramatic... But I figure I would give into her on this one thing (Plus I was undecided anyway) if it will make her that unhappy if I have low centerpieces.

Wow Crisco, that sounds like something my grandma would say. At my bridal shower she asked me why my hair was curly. I told her that is my natural hair and I didn't feel like blow-drying it straight. She said "I don't like it."

My husband's cousin got pi$$ed becasue we addressed her invitation to "and guest" (her BF is married in another country) She demanded that we RESEND the invitiation to read Ms XX and Mr. Y and wanted us to apologize to her BF as well. Yeah right!!
I guess she is till checking her mail for it almost 2 years later

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?
I'm laughing so hard with all your posts. Mine isn't that funny but I'll post it anyway...
My godmother (who I haven't seen or spoken to in years) said she would not respond to my wedding unless I sent her, her daughter & her son seperate invitations. (Mind you daughter & son are single, still live at home and don't wish to bring dates.) I was running short so I only sent one for the family.
Now, I have to scrounge up 2 invitations and my wedding is a month away.

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?
None of my stuff even compares with these. Some people are sooo rude! And if someone if my family INSISTED that I send another invite to their children they would be waiting for many, many years! My invites were not inexpensive so I would not do that.
