Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?

One of my bridesmaids is annoyed that I need them to be at my house at 8:00 am (really 8:30- but she is always late so I told her 8 am) for pictures since my ceremony is at 12:00 pm and is 45 minutes away from my house. She actually had the nerve to ask me if she could sleep late and skip the pictures or ask the place where we are having our ceremony to move up the time!

Is this day all about her?

Kelly

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?

Miro~

trust me..... the thought of telling her where to go and that I do not need her anymore has crossed my mind many times!

She also had the nerve to pick out a very, very similar BM dress as mine for her wedding next year! Thank God it's a totally different color! I guess I should be flattered!

PS~ How's the job going? I've meant to email you and see. Hope it's working out well!

Best of luck!
Kelly

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?

Sorry this is a little long but I think it a great one: 2 weeks after booking my reception, church and band I was asked by Fi's family to please please change the wedding date as it turns out a distant relative had died and the date of our wedding was 1 week before the 1 year anniversary memorial of this man's death. Well I wasn't thrilled but I understood (sort of) they said the memorial would probably be the date we picked for our wedding so I called the caterer, church and band and the only other date I could get was the following Sunday, so we had to book that one or wait 1 whole year. So we booked it, now we are getting married on the 1 year anniversary of his actually death (WTF!) Well ladies guess what, my wedding is in 51 days and the memorial of this man's death IS NOW ON MY WEDDING DAY. So I changed the date I really wanted to get married to avoid this situation and now THE MEMORIAL IS ON MY WEDDING DAY IN 51 DAYS. Someone just KILL ME NOW.

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?

my future step-MIL JUST called to ask if there were any 'no's' - she would 'like to add some people'..(okay...35 days away!)

she then requested to know who is coming so she can 'start working on her seating chart'.

nice, right? oh - we are paying for the whole shebang by the way!

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?

Mine was a suggestion, not something I was asked to do:

My FMIL suggested we go to Cambodia on our honeymoon. To us, that didn't seem to be the most romantic place for newlyweds!

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?

People keep asking me why I am getting married in the middle of the winter and telling me I should just change the date to THIS summer (like it is so easy to just book a RH in the summer on LI with like 3 months notice, lol). then I have to go thru my whole explanation as to why we chose Feb, because of my work schedule, I can't just take off for 3 weeks during the most busy time of my work year, keeping down the cost by booking off season, and our desire to appreciate a HM in a warm location.

I had a guest approach me at my shower and give me a verbal list of who she wanted to sit with at my reception.

Re: What's the most outragous thing someone ask you to do for YOUR wedding?

A friend of my parent's called to ask if she FH and I could extend an invitation to her son. Her reasoning was that he'd never been to a wedding before.

My parents hinted that he was single and around my age group and since I had a lot of single friends, he might be able to meet some of them at our wedding!
