Finally searching for a hall....but question for you??

Ok...so Fh came home on Saturday, we ended up just enjoying the weekend together and drinking and partying at bbq's

however, yesterday and today we are checking out halls. we checked out CLM and VYC yesterday

my sister was working yesterday at VYC so she toured the place with us and gave us all the pricing and stuff...then we went to CLM and I met with Nick again and Fh got to meet him.

Now today after work we are going to check out The Watermill. But what other halls are semi close to the Watermill that we would be able to hit up while searching today??

Oh and should I call the other halls or just stop by? I don't want to just show up and either no one be there to help us or they are too busy to help...I would feel bad haha

THANKS EVERYONE!!

Hopefully in the next week we will finally have a hall booked!!!

Re: Finally searching for a hall....but question for you??

I know that there is Flowerfield is in Saint James is pretty close. I am not sure how close you are thinking to there but in Port Jeff is Danfords, or Lombardi's (both are on the water).

I dont think you would need a reservation in the middle of the week. There should be some one there like a Banquet Manager who can show you around.

Re: Finally searching for a hall....but question for you??

thanks kim...

thats what FH thought- that we don't need to make appts. since it is in the middle of the week...so I guess I will just go with that then....it actually might be better cause we wanted to check out a couple halls today but if we get tired we arent tied down to an appt time!!

thanks for the suggestions! FH also mentioned East Wind...is that close by there??

Oooo I forgot about Flowerfields have to check that out as well

thanks kim!!!

Re: Finally searching for a hall....but question for you??

East Wind is another half hour east of Watermill, at least. When we went hall searching though, we started at East Wind, it's on 25A. Then went to Majestic Gardens, also on 25A and then headed to Watermill, because when 25A splits, it branches off into 347. If you want to start east and make a day of it, I'd reccommend taking that route.

That route is a good idea. Eastwind is beautiful... however I am biased! But it is about 25-40 minutes from there.

glad the info was useful

she could get me a better price than what they state for a Saturday night wedding.

However, Fh used to work there when younger, my older brother worked there when younger and my 2 sisters work there now... (one is a waiter and the other she is interning as a chef for school)

so...Fh nad I are kind of swaying against the idea of having a wedding there because we still know people who work there and stuff...and also we kind of want a one wedding place!! plus we live in babylon like 7 blocks from VYC and dont want to stay home the night of the wedding we want to make sure we can get a hotel cause it is too far to travel home haha

Re: Finally searching for a hall....but question for you??

i'm not sure how close everything else is but i LOVE the Watermill. We were originally booked there but changed our minds the minute i stepped into the Fox Hollow. The Watermill is GORGEOUS!! it's just that the Fox fit my personality better.
Good luck on your search!!

Re: Finally searching for a hall....but question for you??

Sorry to crash, but there is another hall not too far from Watermill that I absolutely LOVED - the Hamlet in Commack. It's on a golf course and I thought it was beautiful - there are even multiple bridal suites so you and FH could each get ready there! We ended up booking somewhere else because FH wasn't so into the golf course atmosphere, but it's really beautiful, and the BM, John, is super nice.
