Re: Photo montage songs???

We used that song from Father of the Bride...I can't remember the name but it's 'Today I met the boy I'm gonna marry...' and 'Better Together' by Jack Johnson.

Everyone loved it!

Be My Baby ('be my , be my, be my little baby..') - for growing up pics

That's all I got for now.

Re: Photo montage songs???

I need songs for that too! Five to be exact! Having a hard time picking them. I like some of the suggestions! I have a four page list of songs for our reception, but can't pick 5 for the montage! Oh well, it will all fall into place! no worries!

Re: Photo montage songs???

For my growing up pictures I am using 'The Adventure' by Angels and Airwaves and my fiance used 'Take my picture' by Filter. And for our together pictures we used 'Collide' by Howie Day...it came out really good and it makes me cry everytime I watch it.

Re: Photo montage songs???

I was thinking of 'My little corner of the world' by Yo La Tango and 'Thanks for the memories' by Bob Hope (yup I'm an oldies groupie)

How long do the montages usually last? Will I need another song?

Re: Photo montage songs???

We need 3 songs for our montage.

I am not doing the childrens pics separately; I plan on incorporating them together and then working our way up to our teen years with pics of friends & family and the third song being just pics of us.

These are the songs I have in mind right now.

Childhood pics: What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
older pics (teenage years, etc) These Are the Days by 10,000 Maniacs

Dating pics of us to current: Either:

My Best Friend by Queen or I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith.

I really liked the idea of Through the Years by Kenny Rogers for our together pics b/c we've been through a lot and have known each other since we are 18 (now 33) and we've dated for 7 years and FH had a kidney transplant. FH won't go for that song though.

Re: Photo montage songs???

my videographer recommended:

Opening
use a moderately paced love song, something cheery and flowing. It’s also a good place to use your wedding song. (i.e…”By Your Side”, “At Last”, “Better Together” - Jack Johnson, “Could Not Ask for More” - Edwin McCain, Etc…)

(Bride Getting Ready)
For this segment, something cheery and light like “Isn’t she lovely” or “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” are always a safe bets, but any number of songs will fit well here. My favorite is “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty.

Groom Sequence (if you are doing)
I like the song from Reservoir Dogs “Little Green Bag.” I like this one for its funky bass line and it has a lot of good “hits” that accent the video. Also, pretty much every guy loves the walking scene from Reservoir Dogs. If you want something different, pick a song with some attitude. (i.e...another song that makes the groomsmen look like group of well-dressed bank robbers) . Some other good ones I’ve used are the Sorprano’s theme song, The “Hotel Theme” from Kill Bill (Vol.1), and “A Little Less Conversation” from Ocean’s Eleven.

Pre-Ceremony
This is the preparation for the ceremony, guests arriving, etc... Use a Bright Cheerful...sun shining, flowers blooming,...what a wonderful day to be alive song. (i.e... A Summer Place, Wonderful World, Beautiful Day, Lovely Day (Gap Commecial).

Cocktail Hour
Something a little loungy works well (i.e...Sinatra, T. Bennett) or more Contemporary like “Stay” by Dave Matthews. My favorite song for this part is “Tequila.”

Highlights
For this something that starts out soft grows in intensity works great. (i.e... “All I Want is You”-U2, You’re So Beautiful – Pat McGuire Band, Up and Away-D. Matthews,). This is also a good place for your wedding song, if you haven't used it already. .

Baby pics
The Standards: In My Life, Through the Years, When I’m 64, Forever Young.
More Contemporary: Amazing (J. Kelly), Bigger Than My Body, Sweet Child of Mine.

Dating Pictures
Use “your” song or any song that was popular when you met.

Honeymoon Pictures
Reggae, Hawaiian, Mexican, etc…or “Beyond the Sea”, “Three Little Birds”,
“Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Hawiian Version)”

Re: Photo montage songs???

Wow these are all so great!!! After hunting ALL DAY,,,, I think we MIGHT do 'I knew I loved you before I met you' by Savage Garden for the growing up part. And maybe 'I could not ask for more' by Edwin McCain for the more recent pics.

Its weird bc our entire bridal party has known each other since basically elementary school and we have so many old pics. So instead of doing just dating pics, we'll alsohave our family and friends (BP), so its really hard to pick out a song.

Re: Photo montage songs???

For growing up pics we're using 'Wouldn't it be nice' by the Beach Boys

and for dating pics, I'm undecided if I want 'Could not ask for more' by edwin mccain or 'somewhere over the rainbow' (the 50 first dates version).

Re: Photo montage songs???

Photograph by Nickelback, Picture by Filter.

I like the songs and they seem appropriate.

They are slow, but not too slow. Good pace!

Not sure of it's the pics or the songs, but I cry!

I didn't know the songs were in stages. Hmmm I may have to rethink them.
