Cardbox DIY idea...is this stupid??

Ok well I am doing a wine themed wedding and for the cardbox some ladies on here gave me some great suggestions.

However it is hard to find a wooden crate (well if anyone knows where to find one let me know ).

So I was checking out Michael's website and found this pic of a basket...

could I use the basket and glue a styrofoam (sp?) cover over it but put some kind of fabric over the styrofoam and slit a hole in the top for cards and decorate the basket with grapes and vines??

Is that stupid???

yeah you could def do that.. VERY CUTE AND DIFFERENT!!! but instead of fabric.. what i would do would be to use the styrofoam as a lid and cut a hole in it for the cards. then i would buy MOSS and hot glue it to the top or the styrofoam and then add your touches of grapes and etc...

i want to run out to michaels and ac moore right now. i wished i didnt work near a michaels cause i might have to during lunch haha

NP - glad i can help!

i think the moss might help make it look like what you want it to look like.. just make sure that the card slot is obvious or they might not know what it is.

I LOVEEEE this idea catie!! my mom is awesome at DIY shes very creative so if u need help we can def ask her!

also I have a doctors appt at 4:00 today, do u want to get together around 5ish? maybe we could go to that mall..go to dinner?

um yea i can do 5:15-5:30 is that too late. I have to stay till 4:45pm today because my boss is out and his secretary didnt show up for work today
