Wedding no-shows?
I know this is probably a touchy subject, but it happens to almost everyone. How many people didn't show the day of the wedding?..after of course RSVPing yes.
I believe I had 3. And they were all family members.
My cousin & his wife didn't show - supposedly b/c they got into a fight.?! I still haven't heard anything from them. And another cousin didn't show b/c she just didn't feel like going at the last minute. I didn't care so much the day of... I was having too much fun, but its sooo annoying! They could have at least called after & said sorry or made something up. Oh well, what goes around comes around

Re: Wedding no-shows?
We had 2 no shows - and have yet to hear from them or receive a card. I just don't understand some people. But another couple - get this - came to the wedding, sat through the first hour of the reception (ordered their dinner), then said they had to go because they had an early flight. Now come on - they could have at least stayed and eaten the dinner I paid for!!! Right?
It's just plain rude, but you're right - it happens at almost every wedding.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
2 -- and there are not enough words for me to express how muthafuking pisssssed off i was. cause i initially did NOT want to invite them (cousin and her hubby that i NEVER EVER see) and my parents made big stink about inviting them.then they had moved and NO ONE knew that and the invite was returned, had to send another one---my dad called and my cousin said she'd send the RSVP soon. fast fwd to the WEEK OF THE FUKING WEDDING and i STILL had not heard from them. couldn't finish seating -- and a friend was doing my place cards for me -- and FINALLY my dad called them and they said 'yes' they would be attending. well lo and behold they were a no-show that day
and what pissssses me off most? after all that drama i asked my parents to call my cousin and find out why she didn't come...their response? 'we're not calling her -- she didn't come...oh well'

Re: Wedding no-shows?
I had 6 people. The best part was I invited my DH's aunt and her husband. When she RSVP'd she included her daughter. Even though that is extremely rude...I let it slide. Well...guess who never showed up, never called nor sent a gift. His aunt, uncle and the uninvited daughter. Needless to say I will no longer be speaking to them.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
I was once a no-show to a wedding of a good friend. I had a huge, ugly fight with my then boyfriend. I sent her a card and gift and I called her the next day. She was totally understanding and forgiving.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
I had 5 people that could not come. All the people had good reasons:My friend had her date cancel on her the last minute. She came alone. I was glad she came who needs that flaky boy
A family friend in Maryland came down with the flu. he actually called CLM telling Nick the BM not to charge us for 2 people, he was asking him what we were paying per person and wanted Nick to charge his credit card.
My cousins wife had to fly home to Canada the night before because her parents were watching their 2 year old and they said he was acting up. To this day she is so mad about it. She said her son was just tired and if her parents had put him down for a nap that day instead of keeping him up he would have been fine.
My cousins wife was sick she stayed home he came alone.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
I had 2. One was my brother's date, it didn't bother me so much as the bride but I was upset for him bc he would've asked someone else to go with him if she was just going to not-show!! The other person was my cousin's bf, I didn't even know he was missing until she approached me and apologized for him not being there.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
We had 6 back out the week of our wedding. Some had completely understandable reasons though. 2 had a funeral; 1 had a dying mother in the hospital. I forget why the other 3 backed out. Then the day of, we had 5 no-shows: 2 of them came to the ceremony & then told us they had to leave. Their teenage daughter ran away the night before and they had to go find her. So sad
My mom had their dinner wrapped up & brought them over to them after the wedding. The other 3 are on my sh!t list.

Re: Wedding no-shows?
We had two. Both were people who left early (before dinner) due to illness. Technically, not no shows, but they were in our headcount and we paid for them. Since they were sick, it was definitely understandable.Welcome New Vendors
